We held our second Digital Primary Care conference in early March 2022, comprising of hourly live sessions that zoomed in on the roles technologies and solutions play within the world of digital primary care.
Overall, the aim of the day was to provide our audience with insightful sessions that helped share, inform, and shape the future of digital primary care together, which was supported with key knowledge and insights from from Dr Minal Bakhai, Dr Osman Bhatti, Big Health, X-on, Crescendo, CCube Solutions and Dr Mala Ubhi.

Keynote: Digital First Primary Care
To introduce the day of digital primary care-related sessions, our keynote speaker, Dr Minal Bakhai, Clinical Director for General Practice Transformation and Digital First Primary Care at NHS England and NHS Improvement, focused on ‘transforming the model of general practice’ and the changes in access to general practice.
A unique patient registration tool across North East London – Dr. Osman Bhatti
Here, Dr Osman Bhatti, GP and Chief Clinical Information Officer for the North East London CCG, shared some of the key experiences and challenges from the development of a unique patient registration tool, which enables patients across North East London to register with a GP more easily and timely.
Meeting the rising mental health demand – Big Health
In this session, the team from Big Health offered stories of how primary care partners can support clinicians in saving time, improve patient outcomes, save money and meet the rising mental health demand through tried and tested Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – an always accessible mental health treatment.
Digital cloud communications – X-on
The team from X-on provided an insightful talk on the impact of digital cloud communications in general practice – with a focus on the benefits to patients, reception staff and clinicians of integrated cloud telephony.
Save each GP across your region 1 hour a day – Crescendo Systems
During our midday session, the team from Nuance and Crescendo offered insight into how their intelligent speech recognition technology – Dragon Medical One – can help save GPs one hour a day.
The case and options for managing Lloyd George records digitally – CCube Solutions
Later on in the day, Vijay Magon, Managing Director of CCube Solutions, joined us to offer his expertise on the case and options for managing the digitisation of Lloyd George records for NHS trusts and GP practices across the country.
Transforming Referrals with Digital Specialist Advice – Dr Mala Ubhi
Closing our Digital Primary Care conference, Dr Mala Ubhi, a GP in Gloucestershire and Clinical Advisor for Digital Productivity in NHSE/I, spoke of how digital communication between primary care teams and specialists has the potential to add value for patients and clinicians involved in referral pathways.
