Campus London, Google’s centre for supporting the UK’s startup community, has announced the launch of its dedicated “Tech for Good” residency. The four-month growth-stage programme will see Campus London house and support six promising startups from the tech-for-good sphere. The programme offers residents access to the Campus London community, Google resources and global industry experts, as well as tailored technical and business support.
The new residents were selected from hundreds of applicants and chosen based on their potential for delivering technological innovation, and harnessing the power of technology to improve daily living. The founders pitched to a Google panel and a select group of VCs from the Google network including: Google UK, Google Cloud, programme partner Seedcamp, accelerator for good Bethnal Green Ventures and diversity-focused venture capital firm Zinc VC. The move sees Campus London work to support a growing sector estimated to be worth $12 trillion globally over the course of the next 10 years.
The chosen startups for this exciting programme include:
- KareInn– An intelligent care planning software for residential and nursing care homes that brings staff and residents together, unlocking the power of data to generate meaningful insights to develop care.
- Spill – An app which aims to change the perception of talking therapy through daily direct contact between a patient and counsellor.
- Alice – A decentralised network using blockchain to help identify and scale social and environmental projects.
- GTN – Combines ML and quantum physics to efficiently discover innovative new drug-like molecules, creating substantial efficiencies in the drug development cycle.
- Labstep – Captures real-time scientific process data to make lab research more reproducible.
- Sci Apps – Specialises in portable analytical instruments which can identify any compound, any mineral, any element — anyplace on the planet. Empowers consumers to make decisions for themselves by aggregating expert evidence & research across 230k+ ingredients in skincare products.
