Elsevier has made its fifth acquisition in the past two years by acquiring 3D4Medical, a global anatomy education company.
3D4Medical created Complete Anatomy, an advanced 3D anatomy platform, revolutionising how students, educators, health professionals and patients understand and interact with anatomy. The platform now has more than one million registered users and is used by over 300 universities.

- July 2019: Parity, a San-Diego, California-based company that uses artificial intelligence to provide better Science, Technical and Medical content and applications.
- August 2018: Aries Systems, a Boston, Massachusetts-based group specialising in scientific publication workflow tools.
- January 2018: Via Oncology, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based company, that provides decision support and best practices in cancer care management.
- August 2017: BePress, a leading service provider used by academic institutions to showcase their research. Based in Berkeley, California.
This acquisition provides Elsevier with a world class 3D technology platform to complement its health education offerings, improving learning outcomes for health students and professionals.
