A new app, myFND, has been launched to support people with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) to understand and manage their symptoms.
Supported by St George’s Hospital Charity and St George’s NHS FT, the app has been launched by Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, Dr Chris Symeon.
FND, or Functional Neurological Disorder, is a condition in which sufferers cannot access or control their body in the usual way. FND is a medical condition where there is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain and body sends or receives signals. The app will help people understand their symptoms, learn about how they change over time and what they can do to manage them.
It includes a library of content, advice and information about the disorder, including case studies of people who experience FND.
A user can access self-management techniques to help alleviate the severity or frequency of some FND symptoms and it can be used to check-in to track moods and symptoms over time.
Excited to be launching a new app today! @MyFNDapp
