Video: Collaborative working, the new working practice for healthcare

In this session Paul Tsang, Head of Collaboration from Redcentric talks about how the recent rapid adoption of ‘collaboration tools’ such as Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex can be part of your permanent new ways of working and how you can get the most out of these tools and move forwards on your cloud journey.

Paul explains: “The key enabler of this journey is the implementation of HSCN and how these services are delivered as overlay services to your organisation.”

“Within the healthcare sector, enterprise-grade tools with their built-in security are the only safe option to keep highly sensitive patient data secure. That narrows down the choice of tool, but there’s still a number of things to consider to get the most out of these solutions.”

“With either choice of tool, you can be sure that patient safety and confidentiality is always there, with encrypted communications and things like the ‘wait in lobby feature’ so your patients can wait and don’t overlap with each other, but there’s lots to consider so you don’t leave all your enterprise telephony features behind on your chosen pathway.”

Paul discusses two alternative routes – Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex. Both technology companies were offering free trials at the start of Covid, but now these trials have ended, it’s time to take stock and leverage the leap forward in technology adoption that has been made.  Not only that, but there are also many gains to be had by normalising these tools.
