In the GP access recovery plan, what area should be the main priority?

Earlier in the month, we covered the new GP access recovery plan with a focus on the role of digital.

Following on from that, we posed a question to our health tech audience to explore their thoughts on the plan.We asked: in the GP access recovery plan, what area should be the main priority?

58 people took part in the poll, with participants from a wide range of backgrounds including CEO, director of strategic operations, head of clinical governance and GP.

The majority – 34 percent – said that empowering patients should be the priority area for the GP access recovery plan. Participants selecting this option included informatics and digital pathology consultant, IT training officer and CEO.

The second most popular answer was cutting bureaucracy, with 29 percent of the vote. The roles of participants selecting this option included primary care manager, senior programme manager and digital business partner.

In third place, with 26 percent of the vote, was implementing modern access, with voters including GP, senior project manager, senior clinical consultant and technical architect.

Finally, transformation support was the preferred priority for 10 percent of participants. Voters included managing director, nurse specialist, GP and strategy sssociate.
