NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde publishes contract notice for neonatal EPR

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has published a contract notice for a neonatal intensive care cloud-based electronic patient record system that “will have the ability to adapt with the ever-changing technology advances in neonatal care”, helping to reduce manual work and paper usage.

The contract duration will be a period of 60 months, with potential to extend subject to renewal. The deadline for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 15 December 2023.

Additional details and documents can be found on the Public Contracts Scotland website, including the conditions for participation, covering legal, economic, financial and technical aspects, as well as technical and professional ability.

As part of this, the contract notice states that tenderers should demonstrate that they have a “sufficient and appropriate general and relevant experience to perform the services and the extent of experience necessary to deliver the range of the managed services all as described in this contract notice”. It is suggested that evidence of three prior projects of similar scale and complexity will help to meet this requirement.

In September, we looked at the role of tech in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s new sustainability strategy for 2023, which shares the vision for a “resilient health service which is socially, economically and environmentally sustainable” and sets out plans to utilise technology to support with property, transport, communications and more.

Earlier in the year, we also covered the digital health and care strategy delivery plan for 2023-24 from the Scottish Government and Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, which highlights aims around data for citizens and researchers and information sharing.
