Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, along with Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, have issued a tender sharing their intention to establish a framework for a data partner to support their unified electronic patient record programme.
Sharing plans for a “major digital and change transformation programme” through the implementation of the unified EPR for acute, mental health and community services, the trusts state that the migration of the data from their legacy applications to the new UEPR will be a “critical success factor”.
The deadline for interested potential partners is 4 November at 10am, with the contract itself set to run until October 2028.
Full information can be found here.
In April, a two-year contract was awarded to Dakota Integrated Solutions Ltd to support the EPR implementation by supplying mobile devices, printers and barcode scanners as well as providing training, maintenance and support for data capture hardware and services.
Earlier in the year, HTN heard from chief executive at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, Matthew Hopkins, who shared the digital landscape at the trust and aims for the upcoming 12 months.
In the summer, we explored the latest annual report for Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative, which examines some of the key digital projects and initiatives to have impacted on health and care in the region over the last 12 months, including the digitalisation of processes and enhancing the way EPR systems are used and interacted with.
Contacts and opportunities
We recently highlighted how NHS England South West region issued an early engagement notice for its digital neighbourhoods programme, looking to carry out an “evaluation piece”, asking interested suppliers to complete a questionnaire to help “inform the specification for any potential future opportunity”.
We noted plans from Digital Health and Care Wales to procure a new commercial, off-the-shelf digital maternity solution for NHS Wales, with the functionality to support a shared maternity record and notes and supported by a service management regime.
And we reported the news that NHS England awarded a four-year contract to three suppliers for a national digital tobacco treatment service, providing adult smokers in England with access to digital tobacco dependency apps.
