A new COVID-19 vaccination dashboard, which charts the progress of Northern Ireland’s roll-out, went live this week.
Northern Ireland’s Department of Health says the platform is the ‘first step’ in plans to publish detailed vaccination data on a daily basis.
Work on the dashboard’s infrastructure will continue, with the aim of to providing a more ‘comprehensive’ resource. But it’s currently possible to view the latest vaccine statistics for the nation, including total doses and the number of vaccinations received in the last 24 hours.
As of 11:33am on 11 March, the statistics show that 655,643 total COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Northern Ireland overall. This includes 606,695 first doses and 48,948 second doses, since the roll-out began. The data also shows that 7,389 vaccines had been administered in the last 24 hours. Closer inspection also enables users to view vaccination data by cohort and trust/GP.
It’s important to note that the current available stats are not systematically/digitally generated and are acting as an ‘interim step’ ahead of a full vaccination data management system, according to the HSC (Health and Social Care body in Northern Ireland). This means the data is subject to ‘fluctuations’ and will be replaced once the ‘Northern Ireland Vaccinations Management System’ is fully populated.
In addition, users can find the latest case statistics, including total tests, the positive tests total and total deaths. While the platform also features a ‘COVID-19 advice and guidance’ section, which links to online vaccination and test booking tools, the contact tracing app, useful guides on contact tracing, and a symptom checker.
Health Minister Robin Swann, said: “Our vaccination programme is continuing to make excellent progress.
“I am committed to improving the regular flow of information on the programme. This dashboard is a step in that direction.”
