The agenda includes:

  • 9:00am – North East and North Cumbria ICS Digital Strategy

In this session we will explore the digital strategy for NENC ICS and how it’s developing inline with the What Good Looks Like programme, ICS Design framework, NHS Long Term Plan and NHS People Plan.

  • 11:00am – The challenges of implementing community diagnostic centres and delivering an end-to-end patient pathway

This interactive session will aim to capture the challenges for local NHS services and providers in setting up community diagnostic centres, connecting care providers and ensuring that healthcare professionals have the right patient information at the right time. The session provides an overview of a pilot scheme that is currently underway with the Sussex Integrated Care System to put in place the digital infrastructure creating a connected workflow that cuts across provider settings. As one of the UK’s first CDC sites, the aim is that the Sussex pilot will act as a blueprint for how CDCs can save time and ensure a smoother patient journey.

  • 1:00pm – National and local approaches to transforming care services; acute, community and social care across Dorset and Somerset; a panel discussion

Chair: Dr Shera Chok, GP, Tower Hamlets, Co-founder and Chair, The Shuri Network and Deputy Chief Medical Officer, NHS Digital

Panellists:

  • Memory Kamwemba, Care Home Digital Outreach Team Communicator, Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Patricia Miller, Chief Executive, Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Allison Nation, Associate Director – Digital Strategy, Directorate of Finance, Performance, Contracting and Digital, Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Mark Nicholas, Chief Social Worker and Social Care Lead, NHS Digital

Through an engaging and passionate panel, this session will highlight work-streams taking place on a national perspective for digital transformation in social care and care in the community. The session will also explore local, practical approaches and programmes for acute, social care and community services. Here we will discuss programmes across Dorset and Somerset which include addressing integrated care, patient flow and digital skills.

  • 2:00pm –  The importance of communication in creating and delivering successful digital transformation

Consistent targeted and engaging communications are vital to enabling change. If people don’t understand why change is happening and embrace it they are unlikely to alter their behaviour and adopt new ways of working.
