Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) has introduced a new TPP app across some of its mental health wards.
TPP’s clinician app Brigid, the mobile addition to SystmOne, is designed for staff to input key information from anywhere.
Following a successful three-week pilot, the trust has now gone live with the tool, providing staff with complete patient record access, including observations functionality and customisable patient lists.
During the pilot, the trust used the app alongside a paper process, conducting two ward rounds a day, and estimated the time saved using the app to be approximately six hours of clinical time a day.
Pierce Devine, Mental Health Support Worker at CNWL, commented on the project: “We would normally write the data onto a paper NEWS2 chart, but now being able to input data into an iPad for it to be automatically uploaded to the patient record is so much more efficient.”
TPP said the app supports offline working and integrates with its patient facing app, Airmid.
Ben Lawman, Design and Analysis Lead at TPP, added: “We are pleased that Brigid is already supporting staff by making their day-to-day tasks easier. The app makes it simple to track a patient’s health and care and removes many of the paper-based steps that are often time consuming for clinicians. TPP is proud to make these real differences to the experience of staff and patients and will continue to develop innovative solutions to support their needs.”
