MDU launches new member app

The Medical Defence Union (MDU) has launched a new app for individuals to access expert medico-legal advice 24/7.

The app allows users to customise their news feeds so they receive content which is of interest and relevance to them, get assistance by searching frequently asked questions and scour the MDU’s vast number of case studies, guides and articles, including the MDU journal, at a time and place that is convenient to them.

Caroline Fryar, head of advisory services at the MDU, said: “We are delighted to offer our members guidance, advice and professional development through an app. As doctors have ever increasing workloads and busy lives, it was important for us to create a tool that would be a convenient and useful way for our members to access practical advice and support while on-the-go.’

The Union recently surveyed their members’ technology use, the MDU found that 69.4% of respondents would use an MDU app. The survey also found that members aged 25-34 years were most likely to use a medical related app for work (75.4%) while those aged 55-64 years old were the least likely (33.6%).
