Navigate Health has announced its acquisition of the Patient.info health information platform as a major step in its mission to build an “accessible, personalised and empowering” future for digital healthcare.
In a LinkedIn post, Navigate Health shared the belief that the next generation of healthcare will be guided “not just by conditions but by the individual”, adding: “Patient.info will play a central role in that future: helping people go from searching symptoms to taking action via trusted content, personalised pathways, and seamless access to relevant services.”
On the Patient.info website, it notes details how the acquisition “combines Patient.info’s editorial heritage with Navigate Health’s innovative approach to modern healthcare delivery”, with the mission of making health information accessible, actionable, and easy to understand.
As well as covering a range of topics around health advice and conditions management, the Patient.info website offers tools and calculators including a symptom checker with added functionality for professionals, a BMI calculator, a patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9) for clinicians to monitor the severity of depression, and more.
Health tech acquisitions from across the sector
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has acquired the digital health company Health Call Solutions Limited, in a bid to “support Health Call to develop its reach across the NHS”. The deal will see the trust acquire the company’s software products said to support the management of healthcare data, to support patients to manage appointments and support remote care. The company was originally set up in 2016, bringing together NHS trusts from across the North East of England, with the aim to “share digital health expertise and resources”.
Healthcare technology company HEALWELL has acquired Orion Health, in hopes of providing “new opportunities for global health systems” when it comes to accessing AI technology. The company noted the acquisition brings “large enterprise customers, recurring revenues, strong operating margins and free cashflow conversion to HEALWELL”, adding that it creates a new channel for the distribution its AI products.
UK-based medical devices company RDi has announced the acquisition of health tech innovator Inicio Health, in a move to “accelerate the development of advanced digital solutions which empower individuals to take control of their health”. This is reportedly RDI’s third acquisition since September 2021 and combines their “expertise in self-sampling and testing kits with Inicio Health’s digital interoperability and transformation solutions”, in order to provide “more accessible” patient pathways when it comes to screening, diagnostics and preventative healthcare.
