Neko Health to open in New York with 25,000 wait list

Neko Health is opening its first US clinic in New York next month with more than 25,000 people joining the wait list, following a recent $700 million Series C funding round.

Currently 350,000 across the globe have joined the wait list or have registered for a scan combining “millions” of data points including on heart, blood, skin, and metabolic health, said to help people with early detection and preventative measures.

The company, which opened its first clinic in Stockholm in 2023, has clinics in several UK locations across London, Manchester, and Birmingham, it shares, but the upcoming launches will mark the beginning of its US expansion.

The Neko Health Scan will be available for $499 from 24 September at the new SoHo clinic, taking around 60 minutes in total. Results will reportedly be available during the same visit, with an appointment with a clinician designed to help customers understand what they mean and actionable insights for their health.

“We’ve spent the last few years asking a simple question: What if a single visit could give you a more complete picture of your health, where it’s heading, and a clear plan from a medical professional to change what happens next?” says Neko Health Co-Founder and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne. “New York felt like the right place to bring that idea to the U.S. It’s a city where people are used to having access to the best of everything – and we think healthcare should be no different.”

In a LinkedIn post, Nilsonne shared: “Americans are already spending thousands of dollars to access yearly labs, on-demand scans, or concierge medicine. At Neko, we’re offering a completely new kind of preventive healthcare that brings all of this together in just 1 hour and costs a fraction of the price, $499.”

Wider trend: Preventative and proactive care

Greater Manchester ICB has launched its five-year strategic commissioning plan to 2031, with the three shifts to digital, community, and prevention embedded into a number of priority areas. A new digital strategy is to be published in January 2027 to build the digital capability to enable its objectives, it explains, going on to detail the role of digital and innovation in the delivery of future care in the region.

NIHR’s Invention for Innovation Funding At the Speed of Translation (FAST) programme is offering funding between £50,000 and £100,000 over a period of six-to-twelve months for preventative technologies in the community care space. The programme is designed to support the real-world integration of tech aligned with the prevention agenda into community care settings such as neighbourhood health hubs, community diagnostic centres, and community pharmacies.

Microsoft has launched Copilot Health, said to provide users the ability to bring together data from across their health records, wearables, and lab results, applying intelligence to turn insights into “a coherent story”. Copilot Health is positioned to support people understand the information they have, part of a “secure space within Copilot where medical intelligence makes sense of your information and delivers personalised health insights that you can act on”.
