MedCurrent UK LTD: Patient Impact: Dignity, radiation safety and quicker results

Overview: The Dudley Group deployed MedCurrent iReferCDS across 46 GP practices. Collaborating with IT, Radiology, and third-parties, iReferCDS reduced staff admin burden and unnecessary radiation exposure, processing 19,539 referrals to date, with over 15 percent of referrals changed/cancelled, and achieving £110,750 in cost avoidance.

What happened? Since go-live in March 2026, live tracking data from the MedCurrent Dashboard shows that 93.5 percent of low-scoring, inappropriate referrals have been flagged to clinicians with a real-time recommendation to cancel the investigation, while 6.5 percent flagged the clinician to change the investigation. Today, 65.4 percent of all transactions match the highest tier of evidence-based appropriateness right from the start. The deployment was successfully activated for 1,000 active users across 46 GP practices throughout Dudley and Sandwell, ensuring that primary care doctors and hospital specialists alike are united under the exact same clinical standard. In the last month, clinicians processed 6,321 referrals, contributing to 19,539 total referrals requested between February and June 2026. 8.3 percent of all referrals were cancelled, 7.2 percent resulted in automated clinical recommendations provided directly to the user to adjust the request to a better modality, and only 4.4 percent fell into the “Low” appropriateness score tier. Between March 2026  and June 2026, the trust achieved cost avoidance of £110,750. This was achieved through an ‘Overall Cancel Rate’ of 9.3 percent and an ‘Overall Change Rate’ of 6.0 percent across all modalities.

Suvera: Proactive recall on auto-pilot, at scale!

Overview: Planner puts GP proactive recall on autopilot. It generates ICE/TQuest blood forms in bulk, cutting an 11-minute manual process to under 45 seconds per patient. 477+ practices have signed up since January and 52 are now live.

What happened? Planner was designed to be an end-to-end automated recall software for general practice. It replaces spreadsheets, searches, and messaging tools with a single workflow that any team member can run. The team sets the rules once. Planner then shows who is due, risk stratifies so the highest-need and most overdue patients come first, sends one personalised multi-morbidity questionnaire per patient, handles booking, and generates the correct pathology forms in bulk, automatically. Planner fully automates bulk blood form generation with the correct requests, brings every relevant clinical view into one holistic patient picture, and works with the systems practices already use, including EMIS/S1 and Tquest. Planner halved admin time at Cape Hill Medical Centre, which has 12,100 patients, 1,647 of them living with two or more conditions. The practice’s own analysis puts the capacity released at around £76,000 a year. Because Planner brings multi-condition patients in once rather than repeatedly, it is on track to release a further 11 percent of clinical capacity. The practice also reports higher blood pressure submission rates and lower did-not-attend rates, helped by automatic built-in reminders that are coded for exception reporting.

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust: Putting patients first: Faster medicines access through digital community prescribing – community EPS

Overview: By launching Electronic Prescribing (EPS) we replaced frightening delays for patients with instant comfort. We eliminated vulnerable paper forms and pharmacy trips. Instead, clinicians now prescribe medications instantly at the bedside, ensuring patients receive critical care at home within hours, not days

What happened? Launched in December 2025, EPS transformed community prescribing from a paper-based process into a fully digital, real-time workflow. Initially focused on palliative care and heart failure services, the solution has since expanded across respiratory, virtual wards, urgent community response, urgent primary care services, musculoskeletal, district nursing, care homes and health visiting services. The project was delivered through optimisation of existing digital infrastructure. Community clinicians were already familiar with SystmOne, allowing focused training through the TPP Learning Management System. Informatics teams completed extensive testing to ensure prescribing governance remained robust. Today, clinicians can access prescribing guidance, medication history, interaction checking, formulation information and drug costs from a single screen before transmitting prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. Between September 2025 and March 2026, EPS supported 49,307 prescribed medicines. The virtual ward team alone reports average travel reductions of 2 hours per staff member each week. Applied across 110 active users, this represents a potential saving of 11,440 clinical hours annually.

Doceree: RepTwin – The AI-powered virtual brand rep, accessible 24/7

Overview: RepTwin is an AI-powered virtual brand rep — not a chatbot, but a fully agentic system making pharmaceutical expertise accessible to physicians 24/7. Embedded within clinical workflows across EHRs and point-of-care platforms, it drives a 2.5x–3x increase in HCP engagement and 3x expansion in physician reach.

What happened? RepTwin’s architecture rests on three principles: agentic intelligence, compliance by architecture, and invisible integration. RepTwin is deployed within the environments physicians already use — EHRs, medical journals, point-of-care platforms, and brand websites — so engagement feels native to clinical workflow rather than disruptive to it. RepTwin is trained on brand-approved content, clinical trial data, prescribing information, safety guidance, and therapeutic insights. RepTwin has generated a 2.5x–3x increase in average HCP engagement time compared to traditional digital formats, with content exploration rates improving by 40–60 percent. Pharmaceutical organisations deploying RepTwin have reportedly expanded their effective physician reach by more than 3x without proportionate increases in field-force investment. Historically, pharmaceutical organisations have relied on in-person representatives, static websites, emails, and digital assets to reach physicians. RepTwin introduces a fundamentally different model — one where healthcare professionals can access brand expertise instantly, wherever they are in their workflow, in their preferred format.

QCS: Compliance that thinks: Transforming social care through real-time intelligence

Overview: QCS and CareBrain created a real-time care compliance intelligence platform, transforming static policies into live, AI driven guidance at the point of care. By uniting regulatory expertise with sector specific AI, it reduces admin, supports staff, levels the playing field for smaller providers, and improves outcomes for people receiving care.

What happened? The combined QCS & CareBrain platform is deliberately designed as one ecosystem that reduces administrative burden, increases quality and compliance, improves outcomes for people drawing on care, provides live data and actionable insights, and makes the life of a registered manager easier every day. The combined platform turns QCS’s policies and guidance into live, usable tools for frontline teams: policies become shift prompts, real time guidance, and automated actions; care plans become living documents, updated and interpreted at the point of care; supervisions become AI supported, reflective conversations, with up to 75 percent reduction in admin time; and the Care Plan Audit tool and Risk Management Coach instantly check compliance, quality, and outcomes. AI Virtual Mentor offers 24/7 expert guidance to frontline staff, micro learning and development pathways are embedded into daily work, and analytics dashboards identify knowledge gaps and training needs in real time. Care managers in pilots have reported nine hours per week saved, and supervisions see up to 75 percent reduction in admin time. 10,000+ frontline queries have been answered in one year through AI enabled support.

Miguel Corporate Services Pte Ltd @ MATION: A human operating system for upstream health regulation

Overview: MATION is a human operating system for upstream health regulation. It combines heart rate variability biofeedback, AI-guided interpretation, guided self-regulation, real-time physiological feedback, and human validation. It helps people strengthen Rest, Recovery and Resilience, complementing healthcare by reinforcing prevention.

What happened? Using heart rate variability and other physiological indicators, MATION provides plain-language interpretation and guides users through practical self-regulating interventions including resonance breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, acupressure sequences, sleep recovery protocols, and metabolic adjustments. A backend human-validation layer provides trend review, contextual interpretation, escalation awareness, and quality assurance. The system is delivered through WhatsApp and Telegram, removing barriers created by new apps, portals and passwords. MATION currently operates through two complementary services: MATION AI Health Coach, and MATION AI Metabolic Health. MATION is built on a physiological measurement foundation using Kubios HRV analytics and autonomic markers including RMSSD, SDNN and Stress Index. In an early implementation cohort of twenty participants over eight to 12 weeks: RMSSD improved by 18 percent, perceived stress reduced by 22 percent, sleep-onset latency reduced by 35 percent, and sleep regularity improved by 14 percent. Among participants with higher baseline stress, Stress Index reduced by 38 percent, and Parasympathetic Index increased by 27 percent.

Thermo Fisher Scientific: Thermo Fisher Scientific COPD Health Inequalities Storyboard

Overview: COPD Health Inequalities Storyboard is an intuitive analytics solution that maps multiple sources of COPD data against indicators of deprivation and ethnicity. By reducing weeks of data analysis and presentation into seconds, stretched NHS organisations and partners can work together to identify clinical variation.

What happened? The COPD Health Inequalities Storyboard is a digital analytics solution developed in partnership with Sanofi to address the challenges of COPD in the NHS. Using innovative data modelling within an intuitive interface and advanced data visualisations, the Storyboard presents national and localised COPD trends with a focus on deprivation and ethnicity data. It enables users to navigate data easily from national level to individual PCN and GP level. By automating complex data correlation processes, the Storyboard enables Sanofi and NHS teams to work collaboratively towards identifying areas of health inequalities and variation and building a strong case for change, directing resources to areas where health inequalities are most prevalent. The platform acts as an analytical tool enabling seamless navigation across four tiers of data: national ICB comparisons, sub-regional place-level variations, PCNs, and individual general practices. In Leicestershire and Rutland, initial cross-read insights provided by the Storyboard revealed low diagnosis rates standing in stark contrast with high emergency admission rates, indicating that poor case-finding was the cause of undiagnosed COPD cases being admitted to hospital.

Babblevoice: Babblevoice AI virtual assistant for primary care

Overview: Babblevoice’s AI virtual assistant is improving patient access in primary care. Answering instantly with no queues or hold times, it has increased patient satisfaction by 18 percent, cut complaints by nearly half, and helped surgeries handle 10 percent more calls.

What happened? Our AI virtual assistant, TriageLine, answers instantly. No queuing. No hold music. No 8am rush. In our trials, patient satisfaction increased by 18 percent and complaints fell by almost half. The root cause of both improvements is the same: the single biggest source of frustration – not being able to get through – has been addressed directly. For reception teams, our AI handles routine incoming demand, freeing staff to focus on calls requiring human judgement and empathy. Trial surgeries are handling nearly 10 percent more calls overall. Measurable telephony cost savings of approximately £2,000 were recorded during the trial period alone. Our Clinical Safety Officer, a practicing GP, has led the work on refining the voice experience. Voice interaction is fundamentally different from an online form, and our AI asks questions the way a clinician would: conversational, not checkbox-driven. TriageLine is configurable to each surgery’s requirements, either ready to use out of the box or with questions and pathways tailored to practice workflows. It’s also engineered for real-world conditions, coping with background noise, calls from cars, hurried or anxious patients. The AI operates in complete control of the call and connects seamlessly with triage partners. We are fully integrated with Engage Health, and in discussion with eConsult, and Accurx – enabling total triage pathways, not fragmented workarounds.

Nurosym: Advancing healthcare through clinically proven non-invasive neuromodulation

Overview: Nurosym is a CE-marked wearable medical device that delivers non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation to improve autonomic nervous system function. Backed by over 60 clinical studies, 150+ research partnerships and more than 5 million treatment sessions, Nurosym is pioneering a new category of evidence-based neuromodulation.

What happened? Nurosym is a Class IIa CE-marked wearable medical device that delivers Auricular Vagal Neuromodulation Therapy (AVNT™). The device sends patented micro-electrical impulses through the ear to stimulate the vagus nerve, activating the parasympathetic nervous system and helping restore autonomic balance. Today, Nurosym is supported by more than 60 clinical studies, making it one of the most extensively validated non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation systems available today. Research published in PLOS ONE found Nurosym increased vagus nerve activity by 61 percent and improved heart rate variability by 18 percent, key indicators of autonomic nervous system function and resilience. Additional independently funded and peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated results including a 78 percent reduction in inflammatory biomarkers (IL-6) and a 45 percent improvement in depressive symptoms and mood. Further randomised controlled trials have demonstrated significant benefits in cardiovascular health, including an 85 percent reduction in atrial fibrillation burden, 19 percent improvement in heart muscle function, and 50 percent improvement in blood vessel flexibility and circulation.

Ortivus UK Ltd: MobiMed Ambulance ePCR – Saving. Vital. Seconds.

Overview: MobiMed is an NHS healthtech solution, providing real-time patient data, seamless system integration, and clinical decision support. It improves outcomes, enables treatment at scene, reduces hospital conveyance, and boosts efficiency through digital records. Secure, scalable, and user-friendly, it supports staff performance.

What happened? At the heart of MobiMed’s appeal is its ability to provide real-time, point-of-care data access. It enables paramedics to retrieve and record information instantly through mobile devices, and is designed to integrate with EPR systems, NHS Spine services, and other digital infrastructure. This ensures that patient records are consistent, up-to-date, and accessible across different care settings. For ambulance services, this means that decisions made on scene are informed by the same data that GPs and hospital clinicians use, creating a unified clinical picture. MobiMed also enhances clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. The platform often incorporates clinical decision support tools, allowing paramedics to follow evidence-based pathways and protocols. Paramedics can use the system to refer patients directly to urgent treatment centres, community nurses, or mental health services. By digitising patient care records and automating administrative processes, MobiMed significantly reduces paperwork and post-shift administrative burdens. Fleet and service managers also benefit from enhanced data analytics capabilities, enabling them to monitor performance, identify trends, and optimise resource allocation.

Anglotec Academy (Anglotec AI): AI-powered OSCE preparation platform for international medical graduates

Overview: Anglotec AI is an AI-powered OSCE preparation platform built on 40 years of British Council-accredited clinical teaching. It provides international medical Graduates with affordable, structured access to 805+ clinician-authored scenarios across 26 specialties.

What happened? The platform provides access to 805+ clinician-authored OSCE scenarios spanning 26 medical specialties, covering core PLAB 2 station types. Each scenario is structured around real clinical encounters, enabling candidates to practise history-taking, examination, communication, and clinical reasoning in a consistent, evidence-based framework developed by experienced NHS clinicians. Candidates can practice at any time, from anywhere in the world, at a fraction of the cost of traditional preparation routes. The platform is currently in an early access phase, with a growing cohort of candidates from across the world engaging with the content ahead of our full public launch. We are targeting partnerships with 32 NHS Trusts at launch to support workforce integration pathways for newly qualified IMGs. Our roadmap includes Clinical Knowledge Review (Q3 2026), AI-powered Video Analysis for communication skills feedback (Q4 2026), and Group Discussion Rooms and Mentor Feedback Programme (Q1 2027) — features that will further close the gap between preparation and practice. By providing an affordable, institution-backed, AI-powered preparation route, we aim to help more qualified doctors enter the NHS more quickly.

Mantara Health: Safer prescribing, first time: Mantara’s regulated PGx testing solution

Overview: Mantara Health provides a CE and UKCA-marked, MHRA-registered pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing solution. Our 78-medicine panel test and rapid CYP2C19 Clopidogrel test match the right drug and dose to each patient’s genetics – preventing adverse reactions, reducing wasted prescriptions and making prescribing safer.

What happened? Mantara Health is a Class I medical device offering two complementary tests that fit real clinical workflows. The first is a PGx panel test, a simple saliva sample analysing 13 pharmacogenes and around 50 variants to produce dosing guidance across 78 commonly prescribed medicines. Results return within three-to-four weeks as a clear report giving a recommendation for each drug: use as normal, adjust the dose, or consider an alternative. The second is a rapid CYP2C19 Clopidogrel test: a non-invasive cheek swab returning a clear result in two-to-three days, designed for time-critical decisions on stroke wards, in cardiology and in primary care, and directly aligned with NICE’s 2024 guidance. A single panel test is valid for life, because a person’s genetic variants do not change. The PREPARE study (The Lancet, 2023) of pre-emptive PGx panel testing, showed a 30 percent reduction in adverse drug reactions when prescribing was guided by a panel test. For the NHS, better-matched prescribing reduces wasted medicines, repeat appointments and avoidable admissions. For clinicians, our reports translate complex genetics into plain, actionable guidance.

Simprints: Revolutionising last-mile healthcare delivery through ethical biometric identity

Overview: Simprints is a non-profit tech enterprise deploying ethical biometric identity solutions. By integrating with frontline health platforms, Simprints ensures accurate patient tracking, transforming healthcare delivery, maximising immunisation coverage, and empowering millions of underserved individuals in low-resource settings.

What happened? Simprints designed an open-source biometric technology (utilising fingerprints and contactless facial recognition) that seamlessly integrates as a plug-in into existing digital health platforms. The tech is designed to work in remote villages with zero connectivity, syncing data securely once a network becomes available. Simprints operates with a strict ethical framework. We do not store raw biometric images; instead, images are instantly converted into irreversible, encrypted mathematical templates. We are fully GDPR-compliant and place informed consent at the heart of every interaction. When a patient arrives at a mobile clinic, a quick scan instantly pulls up their unique, accurate medical history, allowing the healthcare provider to deliver safe, informed, and timely care. To date, Simprints has reached over several million individuals across diverse projects spanning Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, working alongside partners like Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, UNICEF, and ministries of health. In maternal and child health deployments, Simprints has drastically reduced drop-out rates for critical vaccine schedules by accurately tracking children from their BCG vaccine at birth through to their measles boosters.

Pontosense: Redefining aging at home with AI-powered radar

Overview: Pontosense uses AI-powered radar sensing for aging at home. Deployed in 100,000+ locations across 22 countries and 50+ UK care environments, our platform detects falls, monitors wellbeing, and delivers real-time insights without cameras, microphones, or wearables.

What happened? Built by a team of wireless sensing pioneers with decades of experience and nearly 700 patents, the company applies advanced radar, signal processing, and AI to healthcare. Instead of relying on cameras, microphones, or devices worn on the body, Pontosense uses low-power radio signals to understand human movement, activity, location, and falls within a living environment. Pontosense has developed proprietary antenna, sensing, and AI technologies that significantly improve signal quality and resolution, allowing the system to detect and interpret subtle human movements while preserving complete privacy. This approach creates continuous monitoring without surveillance. The platform can detect falls, identify long-lie events, monitor activity patterns, measure mobility trends, and even track breathing and sleep behaviours without capturing images, recording conversations, or requiring any action from the individual being monitored. Today, the technology is deployed in more than 100,000 environments across 22 countries and is expanding throughout the UK and Europe.

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals and Altera Digital Health: Transforming the acute abdomen pathway at WWL

Overview: Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust embedded national NELA guidance into the Altera Sunrise EPR platform, transforming the acute abdomen pathway. Clinically led design improved documentation compliance, accelerated CT reporting, standardised escalation and postoperative surveillance, and enhanced patient outcomes.

What happened? The trust configured the Altera EPR platform to operationalise National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA) standards. When an ED clinician selects “Acute Abdomen” or “Gastrointestinal Complaint” within Sunrise, the Acute Abdomen Pathway automatically appears. High risk features, sepsis red flags and NELA aligned actions are displayed at point of assessment. Clinicians could request imaging without leaving the assessment, with guidance explicitly supporting early CT when NELA criteria are met. The NELA mortality risk score was integrated into the clinician documentation, enabling early identification of high-risk patients. A dedicated “Potential NELA patient” flag flows from Sunrise to the radiology scheduling system, automatically prioritising CT scans for reporting. Results included 100 percent compliance with Acute Abdomen Pathway documentation standards, Age and Complex Medicine reviews increased from 18 to 100 percent for eligible patients, 100 percent completion of CCOT reviews for high risk patients over five post operative days, CT reporting within one hour improved from 41 to 76 percent for urgent acute abdomen cases, and Best Practice Tariff achieved for the first time.

Pearl Second Opinion AI software – Transforming diagnostics and patient trust

Overview: Pearl’s Second Opinion empowers dentists to deliver consistent, precise, and objective diagnoses. It detects dentition issues often not immediately apparent to the naked eye on digital X-rays and transforms grayscale images into colour-coded visuals.

What happened? Pearl Second Opinion software uses machine learning and computer vision tools to solve one of dentistry’s core challenges: inconsistency in diagnostic accuracy. It serves as a real-time aid, helping practitioners to more accurately read patient x-rays, deliver consistent, objective, and accurate diagnoses, and communicate findings to patients with precision, clarity, and confidence. Pearl Second Opinion offers real-time analysis of dental images, as confirmed by the evidence submitted for Second Opinion’s FDA regulatory clearance. Study participants reading x-rays with the assistance of Pearl’s AI system accurately identified 36 percent more lesions than those without AI assistance. Second Opinion produces an AI overlay, which shows if and where caries might be present, periapical pathology, bone level measurement and subgingival calculus. It also attributes a numerical value to the level of decay. In clinic analysis showed 86 percent of patients said AI visuals helped them better understand their oral health, and 77 percent reported increased trust in the diagnosis.

Ayla: Making NICE-recommended dementia therapy the standard, not the exception

Overview: Ayla is a UKCA Class I certified medical device empowering care staff to deliver Cognitive Stimulation Therapy, recommended by NICE and WHO for dementia. Deployed across 42 sites, Ayla delivers 100 percent cognitive stability, 233 percent increase in social engagement, and 9.6/10 resident satisfaction.

What happened? Ayla is a digital CST assistant that empowers existing care home staff to deliver structured, evidence-based cognitive therapy at scale. Built by Brain+ (Brainplus UK Limited), Ayla provides care teams with structured session guidance, accredited staff training, and a clinical outcomes framework that captures cognition, mood, engagement, and quality of life data – all mapped to CQC Quality Statements. Ayla certifies care home staff as dementia therapy facilitators and accredited wellbeing leads, giving them a structured, ready-to-deliver framework. Ayla captures structured outcome data across every session – cognition (SCD-Q), quality of life, mood (PPOM), and social engagement. This translates into CQC-ready evidence that homes can use in self-assessments, inspection conversations, and family communications. Across care homes using Ayla to deliver CST, the following outcomes have been observed within seven weeks of deployment: 100 percent cognitive stability with 46 percent of residents improving and 54 percent maintaining cognitive function; 40 percent quality of life improvement across mood, memory, and self-perception; and a 233 percent increase in social engagement.

Yuuu Health Ltd: Proving the efficacy of natural health protocols in the prevention and reversal of disease

Overview: Yuuu leverages an AI-driven evidence engine to validate natural health protocols. By aggregating real-world data, it identifies what works, for whom, and why – bringing scientific rigor to holistic care and helping practitioners and consumers confidently adopt effective, personalised, non-pharmaceutical interventions.

What happened? Our approach begins with the delivery of structured, condition-specific health programmes designed in collaboration with qualified practitioners and subject-matter experts across areas such as nutrition, functional medicine, behavioural science, and lifestyle health. From onboarding, users provide baseline information including demographics, health history, symptoms, lifestyle factors, and goals. This is complemented, where possible, by integrations with wearable devices and third-party health platforms. Rather than relying solely on sporadic self-reports or isolated biomarkers, we capture continuous, multi-dimensional data streams that reflect the complexity of real-world health interventions. Once collected, data is processed through Yuuu’s AI-driven evidence engine. This engine combines statistical modelling, machine learning techniques, and causal inference methods to identify meaningful relationships within the data. Using techniques such as cohort segmentation, propensity matching, and longitudinal analysis, the platform identifies subgroups of users who respond differently to the same intervention. Over time, the system builds an increasingly granular map of intervention-response relationships.

Help Clinic Sp. Z. o. o.: A safety-first AI and therapist network transforming access to mental health care

Overview: HelpClinic is a clinically supervised mental health platform combining a safety-first AI and a network of over 500 licensed therapists. Launched to address the global mental health access gap, it delivers affordable, ethical and scalable support while prioritising patient safety, clinical oversight and real-world impact.

What happened? HelpClinic delivers a safety-first mental health ecosystem, combining a clinically supervised mental health AI, access to licensed psychologists, group and individual therapy pathways, crisis-aware escalation protocols, and a platform architecture designed specifically for vulnerable users. Key characteristics include strict clinical guardrails and human-defined boundaries, crisis detection and escalation pathways, focus on grounding, emotional regulation and psychoeducation. During 2025, HelpClinic successfully onboarded over 500 licensed psychologists and therapists, forming a large, quality-controlled provider network. This enabled significantly reduced waiting times, affordable group therapy models, continuity of care across digital and human support, and scalable access without lowering clinical standards. A core pillar of the platform is social responsibility, with part of future revenue allocated to funding free therapy for people who cannot afford care. Long-term plans include a 24/7 professional support line embedded in the platform. HelpClinic directly reduces barriers to mental health support through affordability, availability and early intervention.

CLEO Systems: CLEO EPS Community transforming community pharmacy

Overview: CLEO EPS Community is transforming community pharmacy by enabling independent prescribing pharmacists to deliver safe, integrated and efficient care closer to home. What happened? CLEO EPS Community has been used successfully across England as part of the NHS England Independent Prescribing in Community Pharmacy Pathfinder Programme. CLEO Systems worked closely with pharmacists and programme stakeholders to understand clinical workflows, prescribing requirements and governance standards. The project sought to provide independent prescribing pharmacists with secure access to the tools and information required to make safe prescribing decisions. This included integration with GP Connect and the NHS Spine, allowing pharmacists to access relevant patient records, review current medications and allergies, create prescriptions electronically and dispense medicines immediately where appropriate. Pathfinder sites delivered nearly 63,000 patient consultations, with 53 percent resulting in prescribing activity. These activities would have otherwise taken place in GP or hospital settings, while 86 percent were completed within community pharmacy, without onward referral. Measures of success included increased adoption of pharmacist-led prescribing, improved patient access to same-day care, reductions in administrative workload and positive feedback from pharmacists and patients.
