FibroFind: The patented human tissue bioreactor platform transforming fibrosis drug development

Overview: FibroFind has a patented human precision-cut tissue slice bioreactor platform, adopted by global pharmaceutical organisations across North America, Asia and Europe. By preserving native tissue architecture and function ex vivo, the platform enables multi-organ drug testing and generates predictive translational data.

What happened? FibroFind has developed and patented a precision-cut human tissue slice (PCTS) bioreactor platform that changes how pharmaceutical companies evaluate compounds. The platform maintains living slices of human tissue in proprietary bioreactors that sustain viability, native architecture and active fibrotic biology across extended experimental timeframes. Proprietary automation workflows, liquid-handling robotics and standardised tissue processing enable thousands of tissue slices to be generated, maintained and analysed simultaneously. Since 2023, revenue has increased from £2.38 million to a forecast £8.69 million, while EBITDA has grown from near break-even to almost £5 million. What distinguishes FibroFind operationally is not only the tissue platform but the data infrastructure built around it. Each study generates a minimum of 8,000 data points per donor, captured longitudinally as living tissue in the bioreactor secretes proteins and cytokines over time – a continuous biological record of how each tissue slice responds to a compound across every stage of exposure. This enables pharmaceutical companies to make decisions based on human evidence at a scale previously unavailable.

Doceree Inc.: Daily Command: AI workspace for pharmaceutical brand management

Overview: Daily Command is an AI-powered system of work for pharmaceutical brand teams — unifying intelligence, activation, and measurement in one platform. Co-developed with 75 senior industry operators and active across 6M+ verified HCPs, it transforms pharma brand management from reactive to proactive execution.

What happened? Daily Command was built as a unified system of work for pharmaceutical brand and commercial teams. The breakthrough became possible only when three proprietary technologies — developed over five years — converged. The first is a clinical-intent data layer that captures prescribing-decision signals across 6 million+ verified HCPs and 185+ EHR integrations at the point of care in real time. The second is agentic AI for pharmaceutical workflows. Daily Command’s agents run the workflow end to end: surfacing what changed overnight, recommending the next decision, and acting across the full HCP stack. The third is pharma-grade governance built into the substrate. MLR-readiness, HIPAA, GDPR, and SOC 2 alignment are architectural foundations. A 12-week pilot across 36,000 matched HCPs showed forward-looking clinical intent signals outperformed retrospective targeting on every measured dimension — delivering 38 percent faster stage progression, 27 percent higher contextual engagement, 18 percent NBRx correlation lift, and 21 percent improvement in media efficiency. 30,000+ patients this year have been supported with average annual savings exceeding $200 across 4,000+ affordability programs.

Somerset FT: Interactive Care

Overview: Interactive Care is a digitally enabled inpatient model improving safety and responsiveness in single rooms through remote tele-sitting. It enables earlier intervention, maintains safety, achieves high patient reassurance and consent, and supports efficient care delivery with safe monitoring ratios, reducing workforce pressures.

What happened? Interactive Care is a digitally enabled inpatient care model designed to improve safety, responsiveness and patient reassurance in single-room hospital environments. Using two-way audio-visual technology monitored remotely by a tele-sitter, it enables proactive observation, earlier intervention and safer care delivery within workforce constraints. Evaluation demonstrated success across all domains. Tele-sitting safely enabled monitoring ratios of at least 2:1, demonstrating clear potential to reduce workforce pressures. Proactive monitoring and remote oversight enabled earlier identification and escalation of risk. This included a confirmed prevented fall and multiple early interventions, such as escalation of a patient’s nosebleed within 30 seconds. Crucially, there were no adverse incidents, demonstrating improved safety without compromise. Over 80 percent of patients reported feeling more reassured, 86 percent would consent again, and fewer than 10 percent reported a negative emotional response. Tele-sitting safely enabled monitoring ratios of at least 2:1, reducing reliance on 1:1 enhanced care and agency staffing. This released workforce capacity and created cost avoidance, supporting more sustainable care delivery.

QCS: Compliance that thinks: Transforming social care through real-time intelligence

Overview: QCS and CareBrain created a real-time care compliance intelligence platform, transforming static policies into live, AI driven guidance at the point of care. By uniting regulatory expertise with sector specific AI, it reduces admin, supports staff, levels the playing field for smaller providers, and improves outcomes for people receiving care.

What happened? The combined QCS & CareBrain platform is deliberately designed as one ecosystem that reduces administrative burden, increases quality and compliance, improves outcomes for people drawing on care, provides live data and actionable insights, and makes the life of a registered manager easier every day. The combined platform turns QCS’s policies and guidance into live, usable tools for frontline teams: policies become shift prompts, real time guidance, and automated actions; care plans become living documents, updated and interpreted at the point of care; supervisions become AI supported, reflective conversations, with up to 75 percent reduction in admin time; and the Care Plan Audit tool and Risk Management Coach instantly check compliance, quality, and outcomes. AI Virtual Mentor offers 24/7 expert guidance to frontline staff, micro learning and development pathways are embedded into daily work, and analytics dashboards identify knowledge gaps and training needs in real time. Care managers in pilots have reported nine hours per week saved, and supervisions see up to 75 percent reduction in admin time. 10,000+ frontline queries have been answered in one year through AI enabled support.

OstomySecure Ltd: TIES® Smart Lid System

Overview: OstomySecure produces innovative solutions individuals living with a stoma. With an obsessive aim of improving the quality of life for ostomates, the i-Lid™ allows users to replace traditional stoma bags with an intelligent lid that connects to their smartphone, watch or computer.

What happened? The TIES® system with its i-Lid is equipped with sensors connected to the OstomySecure digital application for real-time monitoring and patient-clinician communication. An enhanced emptying system supports controlled, on-demand drainage. These patient-facing components are enabled by the hybrid TIES® implant. Together, they are designed to enable patient-controlled, adhesive-free stoma management without the need for a permanent stoma bag. OstomySecure has developed the technology in close collaboration with colorectal surgeons, specialist stoma nurses and most importantly, individuals living with a stoma. The company has received more than 3,000 expressions of patient interest ahead of its clinical study. The TIES® Smart Lid System incorporates a smart sliding hatch which is pressure and temperature sensing with open/closed state detection; a disposable lid; and a USB-C charging, inductive charging interface, compact bedside form factor. The mobile application is being developed for both iOS and Android platforms and is designed to provide patients with intuitive real-time monitoring, historical trend analysis, personalised alerts and device management functionality.

Proximie: The Intelligence Suite: Helping more patients access surgery through AI-powered operating room intelligence

Overview: Proximie’s Intelligence Suite is transforming operating room performance through ambient data capture, computer vision, workflow orchestration and AI-powered analytics. By identifying inefficiencies, it enables hospitals to unlock hidden surgical capacity, improve staff experience, increase throughput, and help patients access surgery.

What happened? The Intelligence Suite combines several breakthrough capabilities: Ambient data capture that continuously records workflow signals across the surgical pathway; computer vision technology that identifies and analyses key surgical events and process milestones in real time; workflow orchestration tools that help keep teams aligned; AI-powered analytics that surface inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in real time; and predictive capabilities and automated notifications. An independent evaluation was undertaken at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Implemented across robotic thoracic surgery lists, the platform provided visibility into every stage of the operative pathway. By acting on the insights generated, the surgical team reduced procedure durations by nearly 20 minutes per case on average. The result was the ability to complete one additional procedure per daily list. Through a multi-site analysis conducted with a major North American health system, Proximie analysed surgical workflows across 60 ORs. Using more than 700 hours of recorded procedures and over 10,000 operational data points, the platform identified an opportunity to optimise up to 24 percent of total OR time.

Platnik Solutions Ltd: NHSCareOS – The NHS pathology system with all six instrument communication protocols native and simultaneously active

Overview: NHSCareOs is the NHS pathology platform that implements all six instrument communication protocols natively and simultaneously — no middleware required. Built by a single developer with DCB0129 Clinical Safety sign-off, 20 integrated modules, and a documented saving of £120–400k per trust per year.

What happened? NHSCareOs is a 20-module NHS pathology platform on a single ASP.NET Core 8 database. All six NHS instrument communication protocols — ASTM E1394, HL7 v2.5.1 MLLP, HL7 v2 over HTTP, FHIR R4 UK Core, NHS MESH, and POCT1-A2 IEEE 11073 — are native to the platform and simultaneously active. Cross-module automation eliminates manual hand-offs: notifiable organism identified → statutory notification auto-created (3-day legal deadline tracked); SHOT adverse event → incident auto-raised; phlebotomy appointment completed → sample registered in LIMS with zero re-entry; histopathology critical diagnosis → governance incident auto-created. FHIR R4 UK Core native — DiagnosticReport, Observation, ServiceRequest, Patient, Bundle. NHS MESH radiology report delivery as structured PDF wrapped in FHIR R4 DiagnosticReport, destination mailbox auto-populated from GP Practice directory. DICOM MWL + MPPS (ports 11112 and 11113) — exam auto-completes on scanner signal. NHS Spine PDS live integration. For NHS trusts NHSCareOS offers £120–400k annual saving versus current multi-vendor spend. Middleware licence cost (£50–90k/year) eliminated entirely.
