Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics – Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced information and analytics professional to join its exciting journey to developing an outstanding business intelligence and informatics function.

Over the last two years the Trust has moved to a new state-of-the-art hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, implemented a new EPR system and achieved a CQC ‘Outstanding’ rating across all domains. This is a unique time in the development of the hospital and the role will offer the successful candidate a wide range of opportunities to contribute to the development of a Business Intelligence Strategy that reflects the forward looking nature of the Trust’s strategic agenda and complements the new ways of working across the Trust’s new hospital site and the wider local health economy.

The Head of Business Intelligence and Analytics will lead the development of the Trust’s information and intelligence systems and processes that underpin the delivery of the Trust’s mission to provide excellent, specialist care to patients suffering from heart and lung disease. The role supports the Trust in driving transformation, as well as value for money in delivery, and is designed to bring together a combination of subject matter expertise and leadership skills to develop an outstanding informatics function.

The post holder will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the Business Intelligence Team and the Data Quality Team and will work closely with colleagues in the Trust’s Digital Directorate and Finance Directorate to develop the Trust’s information and intelligence systems and the associated processes that underpin the delivery of the Trust’s objectives. The post holder will work as part of the Trust’s Senior Finance Team and will be able to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines whilst delivering a high quality output.

The post holder will possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as a commitment to working across professional and organisational boundaries. The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, completed with well-developed technical skills borne out of experience in analysing complex NHS datasets and presenting complex information in an impactful manner.
