We’re delighted to present our finalists for the category of “Best health tech solution of the year”:

Proximie: Digitally transforming the OR and driving healthcare productivity

Overview: Proximie is a cloud-based solution enabling healthcare systems to digitise ORs and obtain a complete view of a full surgery. This improves productivity and reduces variation, thus reducing elective backlog, improving patient safety, and alleviating workforce pressures and burnout.

What happened? The Proximie platform digitises ORs via real-time connectivity, ambient, frame-based procedural data and scheduling data from EHRs, enhanced by device integration, AI-enabled insight, and a context-rich video library. Proximie allows medical devices and cameras to share a complete view of an OR, either in real-time or post-surgery. Proximie’s OR data management platform informs decision-making and makes surgery smarter, safer, and more accessible. In the UK, 135,000 on-the-day cancellations occur annually, costing the NHS c. £400 million and leaving patients stranded. 80 percent could be avoided with appropriate technology use and changes to processes – thus improving the patient experience. Proximie has also proven its ability to help systems train double the surgeons in half the time. Proximie’s ambient, edge-to-cloud approach allows seamless digital connectivity of medical devices. Developers can see with full clarity how their devices perform in real-world surgeries. Data outputs include audiovisual and telemetry data.

Liva Healthcare: Transforming chronic disease care with evidence-based digital health coaching

Overview: Liva Healthcare transforms the prevention and management of chronic conditions through its evidence-based digital health programmes. Embedded in NHS England and European public health systems, Liva delivers clinically proven outcomes, enhances care pathways, and enables the scaling of personalised care.

What happened? Liva’s patient-facing app promotes engagement and adherence through in-app goal tracking and personal coaching. Patients receive support via in-app messaging and video consultations with trained health coaches, as well as access to educational resources and a supportive community of peers with similar health goals – fostering motivation and long-term engagement. The clinician portal enables health coaches to monitor patient progress, track key metrics, and coordinate appointments efficiently. Liva Healthcare is a commissioned provider of the Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) in 15 ICBs, the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme, and the NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme. Findings from randomised controlled trials showed four out of ten people with elevated HbA1c at baseline normalised their levels below the Type 2 diabetes threshold within six months, an average sustained weight loss of 4.4 kg after 24 months, and a mean BMI reduction of 1.5 kg/m≤ after one year.

Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust: Transforming perioperative care at Russells Hall with digital health coaching

Overview: The Remote Health Coaching project at Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust empowered 635 elective surgery patients to take control of recovery through digital coaching – cutting readmissions by a relative 32 percent, subsequent relative ED attendance by 50 percent, and avoiding 318 bed days.

What happened? The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust introduced a 12-week digital health coaching programme for elective surgery patients, in partnership with Surgery Hero. 635 patients enrolled, with a 32 percent engagement rate. The programme paired each patient with a dedicated coach and delivered personalised support across physical activity, nutrition, sleep, mental health, and recovery planning, all accessible via a digital platform. Patient activation scores rose significantly. Participants reported lasting improvements in their physical activity, diet, sleep quality, mental wellbeing, and weight management. Average length of stay for ordinary admissions dropped from 2.75 to 2.25 days, saving 318 bed days. Readmission rates fell from 11.8 percent to 8.2 percent. Emergency department visits halved, from 8.5 to 4.3 percent. Surgical complication rates also trended downward. A formal research paper is in progress, and a business case for ICS-wide adoption is under development.

Menwell Ltd: The Voy programme – revolutionising obesity care through digital tools

Overview: Voy is a digital weight loss programme designed to complement tirzepatide. It offers personalised AI coaching, AI dietary analysis, and personalised side-effect management via an app. A 60-person pilot showed exceptional clinical outcomes, with improvements to quality of life and a 100 percent prediabetes reversal.

What happened? Voy is a next-generation digital behaviour change weight loss solution, built to create the best possible patient outcomes in obesity care whilst prioritising patient safety when on Mounjaro. The programme takes a proactive, personalised approach, combining remote 1:1 health coaching, AI-powered tools, adaptive habit formation features, a personalised titration pathway and personalised side effects response programme. A pilot study was conducted with 60 adults aged 18-75 years (BMI: 27 kg/m2) recruited via social media over 12 months. Qualitative interviews confirmed high satisfaction with coaching, app features, and the ability to customise dosing and goals. Results included a 10.4 percent average weight loss in 12 weeks, a 3 percent reduction in waist-to-hip ratio, up to 70 percent improvement in quality of life, and a 53 percent increase in weight lost at four months vs medication-only participants. The pilot also saw the reversal of prediabetes in 100 percent of prediabetic patients at 6 months.

Pulsetto: Pulsetto-FIT

Overview: Pulsetto-FIT is the next generation of our original device. Pulsetto leads the way in non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation, helping people reduce stress, sleep better, and boost mental well-being. Now with an improved fit and optimised stimulation, Pulsetto-FIT makes every session even more effective.

What happened? Pulsetto-FIT combines hands-free design and is the only device providing bilateral VNS on the neck – delivering more effective and comprehensive results. Pulsetto directly targets the vagus nerve at the neck for maximum impact on sleep, stress, pain, gut health, and overall well-being. Its customisable programmes and intuitive interface let users tailor their experience. In a four-week clinical study involving 40 participants, Pulsetto was used twice daily following a standardised stimulation protocol (8 minutes per session, using the ANXIETY program, at least level 5 intensity, applied once in the morning and once before sleep). Validated clinical questionnaires showed significant improvements: stress symptoms (PHQ-9) decreased by 56 percent, anxiety (GAD-7) by 45 percent, and sleep disturbances (PSQI) by 41 percent. In a six-week migraine study with 20 participants, daily bilateral stimulation (40 min/day) led to a 40 percent reduction in migraine frequency, 42 percent pain reduction, and a 14 percent improvement in mood.

Careology Health: Transforming the cancer care pathway with intelligent and integrated digital support

Overview: Careology’s connected digital platform empowers patients, clinicians, and the wider system. Proven to reduce unnecessary A&E visits by 68 percent, it enhances treatment adherence and extends clinical capacity. Integrated across NHS and private settings, Careology makes personalised, proactive cancer care possible at scale.

What happened? Careology’s digital cancer care platform combines a patient-facing mobile app with a web-based professional dashboard to connect patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams in real-time. Key features include triage dashboards and symptom-based risk stratification for clinicians, AI-powered predictive prompts and “next best actions”, conversational assistant “Ask Careology” which provides advice on symptoms to patients, and seamless integration with NHS infrastructure (FHIR, HL7, DCB0129 compliant). Through its live rollout with Lloyds Clinical, 68 percent of reported patient interactions avoided an A&E attendance. An Independent Service Evaluation of Careology found that 77 percent of patients felt more confident managing their symptoms with Careology, 74 percent reported feeling more in control of their cancer journey, and 100 percent found it easy to use. 96 percent of clinicians also reported having well-informed consultations with Careology.

Werfen: GEM Premier 7000 – a breakthrough in blood gas testing with haemolysis detection at the point of care

Overview: The GEM Premier 7000 with iQM3 integrates haemolysis detection in whole blood gas testing at the point of care. This innovation improves diagnostic accuracy, clinical decision-making and patient safety – transforming acute care diagnostics and addressing a longstanding gap in blood gas pre-analytical error detection.

What happened? The GEM Premier 7000 detects haemolysis in whole blood samples at the point of care in 45 seconds, without requiring additional sample volume or processing time. Using acoustofluidic technology and lab-standard photometric measurements, the analyser separates plasma from whole blood to determine the degree of haemolysis in real time. This enables clinicians to immediately identify compromised samples and make rapid, informed decisions, improving patient safety and reducing unnecessary repeat testing. The system provides comprehensive blood gas, electrolytes, metabolites, and CO-Oximetry results from a single sample. Its single, disposable GEM PAK cartridge simplifies maintenance and ensures consistent performance, making it ideal for clinical use across hospital settings. An internal study demonstrated that 99.1 percent of samples (561/566) were correctly detected and assigned to the appropriate haemolysis range when compared to the volumetric target value range. The analyser is FDA/UKCA and CE cleared and MHRA-registered, with global rollout underway.

T-Pro: T-Pro powers healthcare with AI intelligence, saving time and enhancing patient care

Overview: T-Pro is an enterprise healthcare platform with AI embedded throughout, delivering end-to-end clinical documentation. Managing over 520k documents a month and already trusted by over 1,000 healthcare organisations, T-Pro transforms outdated processes into intelligent, user-driven workflows.

What happened? At the heart of T-Pro is ambient scribe Copilot, an AI tool that listens during consultations and generates structured clinical notes in real time. Digital dictation and speech recognition allow clinicians to dictate letters and notes on the move, using mobile or desktop devices, with real-time transcription. T-Pro further supports outpatient services through its e-Clinic Manager, a fully integrated virtual consultation platform. Appointment reminders and referral management are automated, saving time for administrative teams and improving attendance rates. T-Pro also offers transcription services that support hospitals during high-demand periods. T-Pro’s electronic distribution solution, Connect, completes the end-to-end pathway. It ensures that clinical letters and updates are delivered securely and automatically to GPs and other referrers, reducing correspondence delays and enhancing care continuity. T-Pro reduces time spent on documentation by up to 75 percent and lowers admin overheads by 80 percent. Clinicians report saving 1-2 hours per day, freeing up capacity for patient care.

What happened? Health Connect unifies care records into a clean, structured environment and enhances them with real-time clinical and compliance insights – enabling faster, safer, and more consistent decision-making. Embedded compliance AI monitors entries as they’re written, flagging missing, outdated, or contradictory content. This real-time quality assurance shifts governance from reactive audits to proactive, in-line safety – improving both care quality and regulatory readiness. Key components include a unified, structured record of a person’s care journey – from assessments to observations – automatically grouped and ordered to reduce duplication and improve clarity. It also incorporates AI-generated summaries, reducing time spent interpreting long-form entries; real-time, context-aware code suggestions during documentation; and a shared care view that brings together inputs from nurses, therapists, and carers. Health Connect is built on a modular, standards-based architecture that supports fast deployment across diverse clinical settings.

Heidi Health: Halving admin time across 1.5 million NHS appointments every month

Overview: Heidi is an innovative AI tool which transforms clinical care by automating documentation – saving clinicians time, increasing productivity and enabling more patient-focused care. It is currently used by 1 in 3 GPs across the UK, in 15 NHS trusts, and supports over 1.5 million NHS appointments each month.

What happened? Heidi’s AI tool transcribes and processes conversations between clinicians and patients to produce clinical notes and follow-up materials such as referral letters, care plans, and assessments. Modality Partnership conducted a 25-day trial involving 47 GPs across 2,800 patient consultations. Heidi’s AI tool offered a 51 percent reduction in documentation time during consultations and a 61 percent reduction in documentation time outside clinic hours. 78 percent of respondents agreed the AI scribe reduced time to write clinical notes, 82 percent of GPs said referrals were completed more quickly, and 63 percent completed clinics and admin faster. GPs reclaimed up to 2.5 hours per day – equivalent to 12.5 hours per week. 78 percent of clinicians reported that they built better rapport with patients. 100 percent of patients accepted the use of the technology. 78 percent of GPs reported lower “cognitive load” and improved focus. There was a 58 percent reduction in documentation-related stress, and nearly one in five clinicians reported greater enjoyment in their work.

Evaro: Transforming healthcare access through digital infrastructure

Overview: Evaro’s AI-powered healthcare infrastructure platform has transformed medication access for 600,000+ patients, delivering an “online banking-like” healthcare experience via direct-to-consumer brands and embedded partnerships, maintaining 4.7/5 patient satisfaction while reducing NHS pressure.

What happened? Evaro has created a comprehensive healthcare infrastructure platform that reimagines how patients access medication. Rather than simply digitising doctor appointments, we’ve built an end-to-end solution that transforms the entire patient journey. The platform combines AI-powered asynchronous consultations that eliminate appointment scheduling, with integrated pharmacy capabilities with 7-day distribution network and triple regulatory compliance (NHS contract, CQC registration, GPhC registration). Modular architecture enables deployment across multiple channels, whilst comprehensive clinical protocols cover 2,000+ treatments across 70 percent of minor health issues. splose: Revolutionising Allied Health with AI-Powered Practice Management

Overview: splose is an AI-powered practice management platform designed for allied health with 17,000+ users across the globe. It automates clinical and administrative workflows, like documentation, transcription, scheduling, and invoicing, saving hours per week.

What happened? The splose platform brings together all the tools a practice needs in one place. AI-assisted note writing, real-time voice-to-text transcription, auto-generated reports and letters, smart scheduling, batch invoicing, and built-in compliance templates. splose AI is embedded across all core workflows, from drafting progress notes and assessments to summarising speech and generating outcome-based reports, reducing the burden of cognitive switching and enabling faster clinical decision-making. Since launching AI functionality in July 2024, splose has processed over 150,000 prompts and summarised more than 15,000 hours of recorded speech. Clinicians report saving up to 10 hours per week on admin time. Practices report more accurate and consistent documentation, stronger compliance outcomes, and less burnout across their clinical and admin teams. Icaria Health, Australia, supports over 50 allied health staff across paediatrics and aged care services. After switching to splose, they saw an immediate reduction in admin hours and an increase in documentation quality.

CELOX PPH: Transforming global maternal care with rapid, life-saving control of postpartum haemorrhage (PPH)

Overview: CELOX PPH is a fast-acting, clinically proven haemostatic device designed to rapidly control postpartum haemorrhage (PPH). Compact, easy to use, and effective, CELOX PPH empowers healthcare providers to save lives and reduce the need for invasive interventions, revolutionising maternal care globally.

What happened? Over more than a decade, CELOX PPH underwent exhaustive laboratory and clinical testing to ensure safety and efficacy in intrauterine applications. It works independently of the body’s natural clotting pathways, forming a robust gel plug that rapidly seals bleeding sites – even in patients with coagulopathies or those on anticoagulant therapy. In September 2022, it achieved CE marking. In a retrospective study at the University Hospital Charité, Berlin, involving 102 women with PPH unresponsive to conventional treatments, CELOX PPH achieved successful haemostasis in 100 percent of cases with grade 1 and 2 bleeding (up to 2,500mL), within minutes. Notably, the introduction of CELOX PPH led to a 77.8 percent reduction in the incidence of hysterectomies compared to standard care. Other studies reported reductions in peripartum hysterectomy rates by up to 78 percent. The device is compact, ready to use within seconds, and requires minimal training. Its five-year shelf life and robust packaging ensure reliability even in remote or challenging environments.

Hippo Labs: Hippo Recaller: Automating proactive care for 400,000+ NHS patients

Overview: Hippo Recaller helps GP practices deliver proactive care at scale – automating patient recalls, increasing engagement by up to 75 percent, and saving 70 percent in admin time. Used across 50+ NHS practices, it improves access, reduces workload, and supports earlier detection of high-risk conditions.

What happened? Hippo Recaller uses real-time integration with NHS clinical systems to automatically identify patients due for care. Key features include multi-channel patient engagement via SMS, WhatsApp, email and the NHS App; direct appointment booking; automated follow-ups with non-responders automatically flagged for targeting; and real-time dashboards to allow care teams to monitor and track patient bookings and measure outcomes. Successful campaigns include for diabetes (60 percent conversion), flu vaccination (50 percent), and prostate cancer screening (300 percent increase in diagnosis rate). In Prostate Cancer UK’s pilot, 700 high-risk men were invited for PSA tests, leading to 71 bookings and 7 new diagnoses, tripling the practice’s recorded prostate cancer prevalence in just one month. Time saved is estimated at 71 days per practice annually, with cost savings of £7,500+ per practice per year. For Nightingale Surgery, this meant an 826-hour saving – worth £11,500 in administrative costs. QOF performance increased from 83 to 97 percent within six months for practices using Hippo Recaller.
