Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has approved Servelec as the supplier for their legacy Acute Patient Administration System (PAS) solution, this will include Oceano and Flow as a combined solution.
The Oceano solution represents a new generation of PAS solutions which supports patient care management from referral, integrated patient flow management through to discharge, providing an end-to-end solution in acute care. Flow provides a visual and interactive real time bed management and patient flow solution, replacing traditional handwritten whiteboards with modern touch screen drag and drop technology. The solution provides Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust with a tool to actively manage each stage in a patient’s pathway from the time a patient was admitted to discharge.
The partnership with Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust demonstrates that Servelec’s converged care approach is gaining traction as the county already has Servelec’s health and social care solutions in partner Trusts and the County Council. This includes Servelec’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution, RiO – the market leading system in Mental, Community and Child Health, and their leading social care case management solution, Mosaic. Running in parallel to the main project will be a scheme to integrate the Oceano, RiO and Mosaic solutions to share information across all care settings underpinning converged, patient centred care.
Oceano will go live in Autumn 2017. Ahead of this, Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust will be taking an upgrade of the Oceano Emergency Department (ED) solution so that the Trust can start to implement paperless processes within the two A&E departments and 12 MIUs located across Cornwall.
Simon Goodwin, Director of Health Informatics & ICT Services at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, said: “With Servelec we have found a partner that can meet our immediate need for a modern PAS and patient flow system that is fully integrated with the Oceano ED and MIU system already deployed across Cornwall.
The integrated RiO toolset will also enable the Trust to make further progress towards paperless at the point of care within the Trust. The integration with RiO and Mosaic will fully support integrated, paper free working with our partners in line with the ambitions of our Sustainability and Transformation Plans and local digital road map.”
Sue Hawkswell, Managing Director at Servelec Healthcare, said: “Servelec is thrilled about the partnership with Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. We are already working with customers to share data across care settings and support health and social care professionals in the delivery of converged care. The partnership with Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and neighbouring Trusts, to share information between our market leading solutions: RiO, Mosaic, Oceano and Flow, further showcases our credibility and our commitment to deliver the big picture across health and social care.”
