Agfa HealthCare has signed a new agreement with The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust to transition to the integrated Enterprise Imaging for Radiology platform, helping the Trust achieve its clinical and integration goals.
The Enterprise Imaging for Radiology platform offers a unified imaging ecosystem, with fast software, intuitive use, dedicated clinical tools and a powerful workflow engine. The solution will integrate with Ipswich Hospital’s existing, third-party electronic patient record (EPR) and document management systems.
In the new imaging management-driven workflow, reports can be generated using voice recognition at the radiologist’s desktop, where the embedded applications are available. Business Intelligence tools will support the hospital to optimize existing data. Other benefits include more efficient workflow and ways of working, sharing of imaging data in multidisciplinary team meetings and on mobile devices via the XERO zero-footprint universal image viewer, and enhanced collaboration through ‘chat & share’ tools.
Agfa’s Enterprise Imaging aims to support the Trust with a highly functional Home Reporting solution. This allows users to gain access to the full ‘Tool Set’ over low bandwidth network connections and provides a truly flexible service for increased reporting capacity, speed of diagnosis and ultimately patient outcomes. The XERO viewer will also promote regional and local collaboration between clinicians, patients and other healthcare providers.
Under the agreement with Ipswich Hospital, Agfa HealthCare will provide all the required hardware, storage, software, technical and professional services to deliver a successful project.
“Ipswich has a forward thinking IT strategy that delivers solutions that benefit patient care now and in the future. I am delighted that the hospital acknowledges the benefits our Enterprise Imaging platform can bring as part of this strategy, integrating imaging data into other hospital information systems deliving ‘Care You Can See’, comments Grant Witheridge, Managing Director UK & Ireland, Agfa HealthCare.
“We wanted a solution that would allow us to seamlessly migrate our data from IMPAX with as little risk as possible,” says Sara Clark, Senior Implementation Specialist, The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. “Integration is a benefit to the Trust, but Agfa HealthCare’s proven track record working with the Trust for the last nine years played a big part in our decision. We have built relationships with Agfa HealthCare and are familiar with their solutions.”
