Three of the world’s top universities are to deliver the new NHS Digital Academy. Imperial College London’s Institute of Global Health Innovation, The University of Edinburgh and Harvard Medical School will offer a world-class training programme in change management, leadership and clinical informatics to CIOs, CCIOs and aspiring digital leaders. The NHS Digital Academy is a product of the Building a Digital Ready Workforce programme, which is being delivered in partnership by NHS Digital, NHS England and Health Education England.
Nic Fox, NHS Digital’s Director of Provider Digitisation and Programmes at NHS Digital said: “We know that delivering technology alone does not lead to transformative business change. For this to happen we need skilled digital leaders who understand its value and have the right skills to implement it. Responding to some of the excellent observations made by Professor Robert Wachter, the NHS Digital Academy provides an exciting opportunity for executive level digital training from some of the best and most creative minds in the world. I have personally been impressed by the quality and ambition of the design of the academy and look forward to seeing the first cohort start this process.”
The academy officially launches next month at the Health and Care Innovation EXPO where delegates can hear from a panel including Professor the Lord Darzi of Denham, Will Smart, Dr Keith McNeil and the academy’s new Chief Executive, Rachel Dunscombe in Theatre 2 at 10-11.30am on Monday 11 September.
