Careview app tackles social isolation in Leeds

In an event held this week Leeds City Council presented how Careview, an app is helping reconnect socially isolated individuals with their communities, and refer them to services to improve their health and wellbeing.

Following a successful pilot and research stage spanning years, the app has made positive steps to address social isolation in the city.

Social isolation is associated with a higher risk of death in older people regardless of whether they consider themselves lonely.

The app is being used to pin point potential areas of people living in isolation for community workers to then engage with the area. The process is said to tackle the problem of finding people in social isolation. The app can also be used as a guide and sign posting system to provide support for targeted areas.
