UKCloud adds new cyber security tool

UKCloud is to embed a new cyber security tool into their platform offering.

The tool, CyberScore, will mean their customers have a better view and understanding of cyber security risks, from the tool automatically scanning for vulnerability data, and converting into risk management reports.

The company said the tool will provide organisations a better understand of their cyber health and support operation and monitoring teams.

A recent Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2019 estimates that over 60% of medium to large sized UK businesses had identified cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months and only 31% have done a cyber risk assessment in that time.

Leighton James, CTO at UKCloud “Here at UKCloud, we use CyberScore internally to ensure that we are continually aware of our cyber posture and stay on top of risks. We identified that many of our customers face similar challenges and wanted to make this easy to use tool available to deploy across our multi-cloud platform.”

“It marks the start of exciting new capabilities being made available to our customers to help meet the new challenge facing operations teams in the cyber and operations space.”

The service provides a score based on the state of the vulnerabilities within a network and identifies key remediations and ranks and rates vulnerabilities so that an organisation can decide on an acceptable level of cyber risk. This score than acts as guidance for how vulnerable a network is, considering various factors such as the number, severity and nature of vulnerabilities found.
