Future of Healthcare podcast series launched
A new podcast series has been launched by Healthcare Analytics provider Draper and Dash. The series sees Orlando Agrippa and Richard Parker from the company hear from industry executives and leaders on the future of healthcare, their thoughts, challenges and vision.
The series explores thoughts around healthcare challenges in the past and present, while continuing to answer the question of what our healthcare system will look like in the future.
With a new podcast to be released each month, the firrst release in the series features Professor Stephen Smith (Chairman of East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). Future releases include Richard Corbridge (ex CIO Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and current Director of Innovation, Boots Walgreens), Rachel Dunscombe (CEO NHS Digital) and Natalie Douglas (ex CEO Healthcare at Home).

Health tech marketing and PR agency expands with new account director appointment
Highland Marketing, a health tech marketing, PR and communications agency, has appointed Jon Salmon to a new account director role to support its continuing business expansion.
Jon has previously held roles in publicly-listed international companies, including Yell and Hibu, and within the NHS at a London mental health trust.

Stryker and RCSI Collaborate to Drive Digital Healthcare Innovation
Stryker, a leading medical technology company, employing 3,500 people in Ireland, has announced the opening of its Digital Platform Services Centre of Excellence in Dublin, Ireland, and a strategic collaboration with RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) to develop digital solutions for use in emergency and specialist care settings.
Stryker will locate its Digital Platform Services Innovation and Ideation Hub in RCSI’s Smurfit Educational and Research Centre, located on the Beaumont Hospital campus. The collaboration will focus on developing digitally enabled care products and performance metrics to deliver better patient outcomes.

Evidence to improve outcomes for spinal patients with EUROSPINE registry from Northgate Public Services
Northgate Public Services has created a spinal registry for EUROSPINE, an organisation dedicated to improving the outcomes for patients with spinal and neck injuries. The Spine Tango registry, which was originally created in 2002, has switched to NPS technology to enable the tracking and monitoring of treatment, implants and surgical outcomes for patients on a global scale.
The information will help surgeons, hospitals and medical device manufacturers to more easily evaluate treatments to help secure the best outcomes for patients. Enhancing the Spine Tango registry aims to inform better treatments and techniques and to strengthen safety for patients receiving spinal surgery.
EUROSPINE has already collected data on spinal procedures from 19 countries and 72 medical centres over a period of 17 years. This data has been transferred to the NPS system, which will incorporate the existing intelligence with future data from across the world to provide vital evidence to improve the safety and success of spinal treatments and implant technology.
