HTN 100: Alder Hey picks Meditech, Harrogate District launches new website for MSK and Liverpool CCG benefits from telemedicine

Aldey Hey Children’s picks MEDITECH

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital has selected Meditech Expanse for its EPR as part of their 5 year digital strategy.

Kate Warriner, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust “We are committed to providing our patients, and their families, with exceptional care. Digital technology can enhance everything we do and we are looking forward to harnessing the power of Expanse to transform the way we work and provide patients with a new level of care.”

Charlotte Jackson, CEO, MEDITECH UK “Alder Hey is a trailblazer in transforming patient care with technology and innovation. We look forward to building on our longstanding relationship and providing the organisation with the technology and tools that will enable it to move forward and achieve its transformative goals.”

Harrogate District patients can now seek quicker advice on managing aches and pains

A new website developed by physiotherapists has been launched by Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and Rural District Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to provide patients with information and resources on musculoskeletal (MSK) pain prior to their physiotherapy appointment.

The website provides information on all musculoskeletal pain, including; neck, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee and ankle/foot. It also offers pain advice as well as health messages on stopping smoking, healthy lifestyles and local weight loss help. Patients can access the self-help information at home as a way to start their rehabilitation, meaning quicker resolutions and management for their aches and pains.

Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Matt Halpin started the website along with colleagues “It’s fantastic that we’re able to provide resources on managing musculoskeletal pain to patients across the Harrogate District.”

“The quicker someone is able to commence rehab after an injury or episode of pain, the better their outcome. The website allows them to access self-help advice and information straight away, meaning they can get help quicker. The information we’re providing will complement the advice we offer patients at hospital appointments, and patients can be assured the information available via the website is from a reliable source direct from their local NHS services.”

Liverpool CCG benefits from Immedicare

Immedicare has supported Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (LCCG) with a 24/7 video based clinical response service into nursing and residential care homes across Liverpool.

The majority of Liverpool’s 56 Care Homes have now adopted Telemedicine and three purpose built Intermediate Care Units also use Telemedicine, with a further two newly built hubs coming on-board in Winter 2019.

Michael Roach, Director of Health Alliances at Immedicare “It is so reassuring to see what partnership working can achieve when you use a proactive and collaborative approach. This message is one we use often with our commissioning partners across the NHS and it is fantastic to hear such positive feedback from Liverpool CCG around the benefits they are realising from accessing our service.”
