Royal Cornwall NHS Trust has adopted location tech from Navenio as part of its digital transformation strategy.
Navenio, a spin-out of Oxford University, is providing its location-based hospital workforce platform to support clinical imaging assistants, radiology portering and service support.
It can be used to assign tasks to healthcare teams based on their location. Termed Uber for Healthcare, the technology tracks smartphone devices to provide an indoor location solution.
The partnership involves supporting the trust cover the location-enabling of the site and for use by radiology CIAs and operational staff.
Ian Nicholls, eHealth Transformation Manager at the Trust, said: “Navenio will give us the agility we need to evolve our portering systems.”
“I’m delighted to be working with Navenio to implement its infrastructure-free technology, which will optimise facilities across the Trust and improve the level of care patients receive at this critical time.”
Tim Weil, CEO, Navenio, said: “It’s great to see our platform helping NHS trusts navigate complex workflows to ensure more agility within patient services. I’m looking forward to working with the Royal Cornwall NHS Trust team to deliver efficiency benefits so they can become a flagship for indoor technology adoption in the NHS.”
As part of a three year contract, the project started in July. The next phase for application could be in areas such as patient wayfinding.
In May, HTN announced the company raised £9m in series A funding.
