Civica has announced the acquisition of Infoflex, an information management system used by over 65 specialities across 130 trusts.
The idea for InfoFlex came from CEO, Marc Warburton’s experience in cancer research and clinical trials.
Marc said to HTN last month “During my work in cancer research I would track the process each time we conducted a new study and out of that the idea to model an information management was born. During this time, you realise that the same processes are being repeated.”
“Many of the aims of the product were initially to help research in a clinical environment, as that’s where there was a bottle neck and clinicians were desperate for solutions which would help them to manage their clinics.”
“The tool we developed allows you to model any information process you want. It can model different clinical specialities to create a depth of reporting that’s needed across cancer, IBD, rheumatology, cardiology, physiotherapies, diabetes, basically all the different therapies and we’ve modelled a massive library of designs.”
Civica commented on the acquisition: “InfoFlex strengthens our position with capability including patient pathway tracking and workflow management, remote monitoring, data management and integration.”
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, trusts have used InfoFlex in innovative ways to manage data collection and reporting. In one example, West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust used the software to set up a Virtual Hospital for the administration of patients being cared for in the community.”
The company also recently acquired Warwick International and Trac Systems, along with launching new products Cito and Civica Prescribing.
Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO, said: “I am delighted to welcome InfoFlex into the Civica Group. The company’s market leading software and sector experience will strengthen our presence and expertise right at the heart of the NHS. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead to add even more value and digital capability for our customers and further help transform the way trusts deliver clinical care.”
Marc Warburton, InfoFlex Chief Executive added: “As the next stage of our development, we’re excited to be joining Civica. This will enable us to benefit from the opportunities and expertise of the wider Group, helping us to support more customers in providing the data and information management software and innovation to improve health outcomes.”
