Nourish Care integrates with GP Connect

Nourish Care, an app-based care management platform, has achieved full integration with the NHS Digital programme, GP Connect.

The integration means care providers will be able to review GP records and medical notes of those being supported in real-time, to support decisions at the point of care.

The Nourish Care platform supports more than 1,800 care providers in the UK, and is used within a variety of care environments such as residential homes, nursing homes, mental health services, and learning disability services.

Nuno Almeida, Founder and CEO of Nourish Care, commented: “The introduction of GP Connect is a huge step towards delivering interoperability and establishing a connected care environment within health and social care.

“Nourish customers will be able to review relevant and timely medical notes for people they support, leading to better continuity of care, and resulting in safer, improved outcomes. I look forward to seeing the positive impact this delivers for care teams and those they support.”

HTN last reported on the company in May 2021, when the supplier achieved accreditation for the Digitising Social Care Records Programme Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). The DPS supports social care and NHS organisations digitise social care records and hopes to speed-up the process by providing an assured list of suppliers.

In other recent and related news, Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has introduced GP Connect, while NHSX has published a standards roadmap for interoperability and care records, and NHS Digital has released an API roadmap for which it is seeking developer feedback.

Earlier in the week, HTN reported on a patient app being used across Rotherham,  which provides access to primary and secondary care services through one integrated platform. The Rotherham Health App displays hospital and GP information to service users, via the application, and allows them to access a service directory, self refer, book assessments, and amend appointments.
