HTN Digital Primary Care agenda revealed

HTN is delighted to reveal the agenda for HTN Digital Primary Care, our one-day online conference, taking place on 2 March 2022.

Join HTN and colleagues from 9:00am-3:00pm, for the free-to-attend online conference, providing practical, educational and informative sessions focused around digital solutions within primary care.

The day includes talks from NHS leaders in primary care and innovation sessions from Big Health, X-on, Crescendo and CCube Solutions.

The one-day virtual event will focus on the role of technologies and solutions, where you can discover, learn and shape the future of digital general practice together.

HTN Digital Primary Care, 2 March, Agenda Preview

  • Keynote: Digital First Primary Care (9:00am – 9:30am)
    Dr Minal Bakhai, Clinical Director for Digital First Primary Care at NHS England and NHS Improvement opening address.

  • A unique patient registration tool across North East London (9:30am – 10:00am)
    Dr Osman Bhatti, GP and the Chief Clinical Information Officer for the North East London CCG will be discussing how getting patients to register with GP practices has always been a challenge and for patients can be a confusing process. Across North East London, they’ve enabled a unique online registration tool that will allow any patient living anywhere within North East London to get a simple standard approach to register with a GP, easily and quickly.
  • Meeting the rising mental health demand (10:00am – 10:45am)
    In this session, Big Health will share stories of how their partners in primary care are able to save clinician time, improve patient outcomes, save money and meet rising mental health demand – all without hiring new staff. This is done through tried, tested and trusted digital CBT: always-accessible, gold standard mental health treatment in primary care.
  • Digital cloud communications (10:45am – 11:30am)
    X-on will be discussing the impact of Digital Cloud Communications in general practice, given the recent NHSE announcement, including the priority of migrating practices off legacy phone systems over the coming year. The session will be split into three parts covering: the benefits to patients, reception staff and clinicians of integrated cloud telephony; specific focus on desktop tools for GPs including new appointment list management; and how a blueprint for cloud communications can be used to serve Primary Care Networks now and in the future.
  • Save each GP across your region one hour a day (11:30am – 12:15pm)
    Simon Howard from Crescendo & Dr Simon Wallace from Nuance are teaming up for this session to demonstrate the use of Dragon Medical One Speech Recognition to save GPs 1 hour a day. They are also joined by Dr Tim Lyttle GP & Clinical Director who is a current user of Dragon Medical One to share his experience with the software.
  • The case and options for managing Lloyd George records digitally (1:00pm – 2:00pm)
    We’ll look at how Lloyd George records are used, the legal requirements concerning retention, how they are moved around and cost-effective options available to finally ‘get rid’ of them, such that the NHS’s goal of being paper-free might be achieved.
  • Transforming referrals with digital specialist advice (2:00pm – 3:00pm)
    Dr Mala Ubhi, GP, Clinical Advisor, Digital Productivity, Transformation Directorate NHSE/I, Governing Body GP Gloucestershire CCG will be discussing how digital communication between primary care teams and specialists has the potential to add value for patients and clinicians involved in referral pathways, including the opportunities that the NHS electronic Referral System (e-RS) offers for this transformation.
