£20 million framework for digital flexible staff pools in primary care

NHS England has opened a £20 million framework procurement for local systems to deploy digital flexible staff pools to support clinical capacity in primary care.

Suppliers who offer a digital solution are now being invited to apply to the framework, initially focusing on the deployment of GPs, to enable practices to post available sessions and for individuals to indicate their availability or to book suitable sessions.

Although initially focusing on GPs, a requirement will also be to include the deployment of other sessional clinical and non-clinical primary care roles as required locally.

The aim of the programme is to support the delivery of primary care flexible staff pools and support local systems deploy their workforce. It is being developed to support integrated care boards, clinical commissioning groups and primary care networks make contract awards.

The framework will run for 24 months, with a possible extension of 24 months, and an anticipated maximum of eight suppliers will be awarded contracts.

The procurement is being carried out by NHS South, Central & West Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England. The deadline to express an interest in the framework is 9am on 21st July 2022.
