Join us for our first event of 2023

Join us for first event of 2023! Our two-day HTN Now event takes place 18-19 January and is open to all to attend – register for your free ticket now to discuss, discover and learn about the latest happenings in health tech.

Through the event we’ll be sharing thoughts and experiences on different topics in industry. We welcome speakers from across the industry to share their projects, learnings, challenges, advice and approaches.

18 January 

First up at 9am, we will share the first of a two part special report focusing on tackling the elective care backlog, featuring input from Alcidion and Open Medical.

At 10am, we will be joined by Dr Penny Kechagioglou, Chief Clinical Information Office and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at UHCW, to discuss building the clinical informatics team of the future. Penny will explore how the benefits of a robust and agile clinical informatics team are multifaceted, and will share some suggested approaches.

Next up at 11am, innovation in education and training of the health workforce is the focus. We will be joined by Henrietta Mbeah-Bankas, Head of Blended Learning/Digital Learning and Development at Health Education England. Henrietta’s presentation will focus on how technology can be harnessed effectively in education with conditions, context, benefits and challenges to promoting effective evidence-based education approaches.

From 1pm, we’ll be sharing information on the finalists of the HTN Now Awards on Twitter – find out more about the projects and programmes of work behind each finalist, celebrating the breadth of innovation and transformation happening in the industry.

Finally, at 7pm, we’ll be announcing the winning and highly commended entries for the HTN Now Awards. The online ceremony will take place via the HTN website on our Twitter account through #HTNNowAwards2023.

19 January

First up at 9am, we will share our HTN Now Awards: meet the winners article.

Next up at 11am, we will be joined by Dr Hatim Abdulhussein, National Clinical Lead for AI and Digital Media Workforce at the Directorate of Innovation, Digital and Transformation at Health Education England. Hatim will be hosting a discussion on using AI to improve health equity.

At 1pm, we have a session with the NHS England Blueprinting team. We will be joined by Paul Charnley, Co-chair of the Blueprinting Steering Group; Saj Kahrod, Assistant Director of Blueprinting at NHS England; Sarah Atkins, Scan4Safety Nursing & Product Specialist; and Rachael Ellis, Director. They will discuss the blueprinting achievements of 2022, along with providing an overview of the blueprinting programme; the Blueprint library and NHS Future. In addition, they will discuss how to implement Radio Frequency Identification and Real Time Locating System from planning to performing.

At 2pm, we’ll share a special report focusing on what’s new in digital mental health across the industry.

Finally, at 3pm, we’ll be sharing the first of an interview feature series on cyber and data security, in which we discuss security by design with Harry Lykostratis, Managing Director of Open Medical.
