Agilio Software has announced its latest acquisition of iatro, a specialist digital primary care supplier.
The company said the acquisition will enhance its patient engagement software offering, levering the “significant amount of information that is held on Agilio’s TeamNet required for patient communications and being published on GP websites”. The company added that “a link between TeamNet and iatro will bring the added value of simplifying the distribution of consistent information to patients”.
Iatro launched in 2019, to support primary care with creating and maintaining up-to-date websites and patient facing information, and has grown to support over 1,000 GP practices. Now, Agilio plans to provide the iatro solution to its user base spanning 4,000 GP practices.
Thomas Porteus, Founder of iatro, commented on the acquisition: “The acquisition means that iatro can benefit from Agilio’s healthcare operations technology expertise, allowing us to further invest in the rapid expansion of our patient engagement technology.”
Neil Laycock, CEO of Agilio Software, added: “As a group, we are focused on expanding our patient engagement offering to provide our clients with a one-stop digital solution for all of their healthcare operational needs.”
Earlier this year, iatro joined us for HTN Digital Primary Care, delivering an online session focusing on creating a highly usable and accessible GP website for patients.
In July, we spoke with Thomas Porteus, for our special feature on digital primary care. The interview focused on usability of GP websites, a practical case study and we discussed what good looks like in this area.
