Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) has awarded a contract for a dental patient management software service to Newcastle-based Systems for Dentists Limited, for a reported value of 107,117.50.
Set to run for five years to February 2029, the contract looks to replace previous patient management software, which was no longer supported by the software supplier/developer. Expectations of the service provider include providing support to patients with special needs and those who have “difficulty accessing” general dental services; and managing an emergency dental service for out-of-hours care when a patient’s clinical condition requires prompt attention.
SCFT specified that the software management system needed to include cloud-based storage with a browser user access point; electronic patient medical histories and NHS Patient Record forms; an electronic patient portal to be utilised for appointment booking and communication; integrated communication systems; and integrated wait list management and reporting. Additionally, the procured system was required to provide dental-specific charting and treatment planning features, as well as dental contract and financial practice management features.
