As we look ahead to the second half of 2024 we’ve plenty of virtual events lined up on HTN’s calendar, with digital healthcare leaders from across the industry joining us to share insights, learnings and best practice on topics from electronic patient records to cyber security to virtual wards.

Let’s take a look at what’s coming up over the next two months.

18 July, 1pm – 2pm: webinar on combating ransomware in healthcare with network detection and response

With cyber security posing a key and ongoing challenge facing the NHS and other healthcare providers, this webinar provides an opportunity to learn from leaders in this space. Hear experiences and insights on how to combat ransomware in healthcare with network detection and response, with the aim of expanding your knowledge on how to help your organisation stay secure.

24 July, 10am – 11am: webinar on simplifying the referral process to support right care, first time

The complexities of the NHS referral process can have a significant impact on patients and clinicians alike, and in this webinar our panellists will be sharing practical advice on how to reduce the time to refer and how to use the right pathway according to local guidance. They will also be discussing how you can track and report on referrals, and how to manage changes within pathways.

24 July, 12pm – 1pm: panel discussion on extending EPR value through mobility and connected devices 

Panellists will explore various strategies for widening the benefits of the EPR using mobility and connected devices, focusing on understanding clinical workflows in relation to the EPR and identifying challenges in clinical settings along with how to resolve them, how to drive operational efficiency to maximise the value of the EPR, and how to measure return on investment. We’ll also hear recommendations on how to streamline workflows and utilise mobile and connected devices for a better user experience and faster time-to-value.

6 August, 10am – 11am: panel discussion on whether the reality of AI will live up to the current hype, and how to manage bias in healthcare data 

Artificial intelligence is, as ever, a hot topic within healthcare – but can AI live up to the claims? And what are the pitfalls that must be avoided? Digital healthcare leaders join HTN to discuss the landscape of artificial intelligence within healthcare, with focus on what AI can practically help to achieve and how to tackle the challenges around bias.

7 August, 10am – 11am: panel discussion on innovation in primary care

In this panel discussion, we’ll hear from NHS professionals as they discuss their views on what is new and innovative within primary care, bringing in their own experiences with health tech as well as their hopes for the future. How can innovation within primary care be supported, and what are the key challenges within this space that could be tackled with the help of tech? Our panellists will discuss this and more.

8 August, 10am – 11am: panel discussion on learnings from virtual wards, and what’s next for virtual wards?

What does progress look like for virtual wards, and how has the implementation process gone so far? We’ll take a look at virtual ward programmes in practice and the experiences for staff and patients, with panellists highlighting learnings to take forward as programmes evolve. We’ll also be looking to the future and asking what’s next for virtual wards, from the front-line perspective of digital healthcare professionals.

8 August, 2pm – 3pm: panel discussion on the primary-secondary care interface 

The primary-secondary care interface is a challenge that often gets raised in discussions with health tech professionals – but what can be done to support in this area, to enable more seamless care and help patients and staff alike? In this panel, we’ll be discussing the key challenges and how they can be tackled, tips and ideas from professionals’ experience, perspectives on what good looks like, and more.
