Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has gone live with the CCube electronic document management system by Noveva Software Group, this month.
The platform has gone live across the trust, following a migration of 8 million digital documents from the previous incumbent Kainos Evolve system. The trust’s in-house scanning bureau are now also live scanning patient documents into the CCube platform, supporting the organisation in making a rich patient record available to health and care teams across the organisation.
The go-live followed a tender exercise in 2023, where the CCube EDMS was selected to be utilised for clinical records, with a key requirement to seamlessly integrate with the Cerner/Oracle Health EPR.
“Following a successful transition led by our project team with experts from BTHFT and Noveva, we are pleased to continue on our digital journey by ensuring that paper documents relating to the medical record are scanned and available as part of the electronic patient record, with seamless access from Oracle Cerner. This will support our clinicians in achieving our objectives to deliver outstanding care by having a full complement of information and history to support clinical decision making. We would be more than happy to advise and support other organisations on this journey,” commented Awais Siddique, Service Manager at BTHFT.
Alistair Eaton, CEO, Noveva Software Group, added: “We’re really proud to have supported the team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals to go-live with the CCube EDMS. This initiative provides healthcare and clinical teams with an easy-to-use, intuitive experience to view a patients’ document record, which can provide up to 80% of information on a patient.”
Digital transformation at Bradford Teaching Hospitals
Last year, HTN visited Bradford Teaching Hospitals to learn how its Command Centre works. We heard what it means for operational performance; the impact on the emergency department, patient flow, discharge, deterioration management, and the hospital’s operations at night; and the trust’s plans for the future.
In February, the trust shared an evaluation of its virtual royal infirmary programme, demonstrating the impact of its “hospital-level care directly to patients’ homes”. Since launching in June 2023, the service covers seven specialities, across acute medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, renal, respiratory and vascular care, with the hospital noting the service supports a “reduction in unnecessary hospital admissions and supports early discharge”, adding “in line with patients’ preferred choice of care”.
