NHS England has published a potential opportunity for the re-procurement of the NHS digital weight management programme, with the aim to offer a national service to patients with a BMI of 30 plus.
As part of the programme, service users living with obesity will receive a 12-week behavioural lifestyle intervention in the form of dietary, nutritional and physical activity advice. They’ll also report on their progress through weight recordings, tracking engagement with weight management content, coaching engagement and more.
The procurement process will be separated into three different lots, each of which concentrates on providing different levels of access to the digital weight management programme. Lot 1 focuses on self-directed access; Lot 2 on providing a digital weight management programme with 50 minutes of individual coaching per user; and Lot 3 looks at delivering 100 minutes of individual digital weight management programme coaching per user, as well as specific tailoring for groups experiencing health inequalities.
NHSE estimates a total value of £21 million across all three Lots, with a maximum of nine contracts. View the tender notice to find out more about this opportunity.
