York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has celebrated the go-live of its Nervecentre EPR, posting on LinkedIn about the milestone and thanking all involved.
According to the trust board, go-live was deferred from February following delays with NHSE approval. First tranche functionality introduced covers observations, clinical documentation for inpatients, urgent and emergency care, ePMA, bed management, and read-only diagnostic results.
“This is the largest digital transformation programme our organisation has undertaken so far and one that has involved an extraordinary effort from colleagues right across the trust,” it states. “Over the past few weeks, thousands of staff have worked together to safely introduce our new EPR system into some of our busiest clinical environments, including urgent and emergency care, inpatient wards, maternity, and paediatric and neonatal services.”
The trust also shares hopes that the introduction of the new EPR will mean staff are able to access the information they need more quickly, supporting safer and more connected care across its services. It is now reportedly working with Nervecentre on revised dates for go-live on tranches two and three.
James Hawkins, CDIO, highlighted that the go-live was delivered across multiple hospital sites with zero downtime and no disruption, saying: “That outcome doesn’t happen by chance. It is the result of years of preparation, meticulous planning, relentless focus, and an unwavering commitment from teams right across the organisation.”
Wider trend: EPR
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is progressing with its EPR programme, noting the beginning of clinical validation workshops and workforce engagement initiatives. The CCIO of Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust has taken to LinkedIn to share an update on progress toward the trust’s scheduled 2027 go-live of the Rio EPR system. Referring to the coming week as a “pivotal” one in the journey toward go-live, Venkatesh Muthukrishnan, CCIO, shared that it marks the beginning of clinical validation workshops which will see clinicians coming together to inform the development of the system.
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating the successful launch of phase two of its Nervecentre EPR, “significantly” expanding its functionality and moving forward with hopes of realising “safer” and “more coordinated” care. The phase two launch incorporates urgent and emergency care, and allows clinical documentation, internal referrals, bed management, and e-observations to be completed within the EPR.
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating the go-live of phase one of its EPR, with the trust offering its thanks to all those involved in helping the go-live run “smoothly”. Taking to LinkedIn, the trust said: “Thank you to all colleagues for your dedication – this has been a brilliant team effort across NCIC!” Floorwalkers and the command centre were on hand to offer support for ward teams during the go-live, it continues, with members of the Alcidion team also on site to pitch in.
