Cera Care, a technology enabled home care company has announced it plans to create 10,000 new jobs, adding to its current 2,000 employees.
The technology-enabled home care provider uses digital and data analytics to improve elderly care services. Through the app the company would previously deliver over 10,000 visits per day and a new care session every 10 seconds – with now the services to be boosted with an extra 10,000 carers online.
Launched in 2016, the company has built machine learning algorithms for elderly care which allow it to predict health deteriorations before they occur. Last month, the company raised over £50 million through equity and debt financing to support its national expansion, and the roll-out of its SmartCare technology platform.
The company said it will provide training and certification so workers can be trained and ready within 10 days.
The expansion is in response to support older people who may be isolated and most at risk from the virus.
Applicants will take in-depth online skills development courses, followed by assessments to become formally certified as a carer. The program will allow successful applicants to begin working as carers and earning immediately following the ten-day application and certification period.
Dr Ben Maruthappu MBE, Co-founder and CEO of Cera Care “Coronavirus has impacted every single part of our society, with an unprecedented burden being felt by our elderly population, families and the NHS. To help beat the virus Cera is creating 10,000 jobs providing critical support to our country’s NHS at a time when it needs it most, through a combination of our carer workforce and best-in-class technology.”
“Our ability to support and carefor our elderly population, who are most at risk from this disease, over the coming months and years will significantly determine our ability to navigate this crisis.”
