Myrecovery app to roll-out across Greater Manchester

Myrecovery, an app to support patients through their orthopaedic care, has been selected by seven NHS trusts across Greater Manchester.

Developed by surgeons, the digital companion has been created to support patients to prepare for and recover from surgery, and will be initially used for patients across Manchester who are having hip or knee replacement surgery.

The tool aims to empower people to prepare for each stage, support self-care, enable patients to set goals and watch videos such as physio techniques. Patients can also track and monitor progress, access information, and receive customised content on procedures and surgeons.

The first phase of this programme will see seven NHS trusts across Greater Manchester use the myrecovery patient app and msk.ai platform to support patients who are having hip or knee replacement surgery. Care teams will have access to the msk.ai dashboard and msk analytics platform, to support waiting list management, remote care, optimisation of care pathways, and analysis of patient-reported outcomes.

The app has received favourable reviews on the Google App Store, receiving 4.4/5 from 250 user reviews.

In other recent news in the region, HTN reported on the plans in Greater Manchester for improving digital inclusion.

Earlier in the year, HTN welcomed Grace Birch, Associate Director of Information, Management and Technology and Data Protection Officer at Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust, as part of our HTN Now live event series. Grace shared the trust’s digital programmes, innovations and strategy for supporting their staff and local community. Watch the session back here.
