Feedback, a provider of digital infrastructure to facilitate patient specific pathways between primary and secondary care, has been awarded a 12 month extension of an initial pilot with Sussex Health and Care Partnership Integrated Care System.
The pilot aimed to support community diagnostic centres establish “symptom-based pathway models” using Feedback’s digital infrastructure solutions Bleepa and CareLocker. Part of the scope of the project was to deliver an end-to-end digital pathway, with the intention to act as a blueprint to scale across other pathways and models.
A £450,000 contract will cover a 12 month extension to the initial pilot phase, with an aim to facilitate an expansion to more GP practices.
Dr Tom Oakley, CEO of Feedback, commented on the news: “This contract recognises the initial stage of our work together and enables us to proceed to a more formal working arrangement, pending a successful procurement exercise.
“Together we have demonstrated that community diagnostic centres can be used to successfully deliver cross-provider symptom-based diagnostic pathways that transform the patient journey within the NHS and we expect to be able to show a meaningful impact on patient waiting lists as a result. ICSs need to adopt a symptom-based pathway approach to community diagnostic centres if they are going to deliver the expected impact on cancer and elective care waiting times. This pilot is an example of how this can be delivered and our digital infrastructure is an essential component of delivering it.”
