University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has launched a market engagement exercise for a trust-wide digital dictation and speech recognition solution.
The trust aims to engage with relevant suppliers at this early stage to judge interest from potential suppliers and support the production of a final specification.
Its overall aim is to address a “priority of reducing letter turnaround times, reducing clinician time during administrative tasks and improving the patient experience via quicker communication”.
As part of the engagement process the trust has outlined the solution capabilities required, including the ability for a full letters workflow application from dictation through to distribution, for in-house transcription through administrative teams, and for letters to be outsourced for transcription to an existing supplier. The requirements continue to include the ability to use the solution with other applications, such as PICS integration with the trust’s core electronic health record applications.
In addition the solution must be compatible with hardware already in use within the trust (Philips, Olympus), provide Android and iOS mobile compatibility in line with the trust’s chosen devices, and be compatible with trust’s remote working solutions (VPN).
Suppliers are invited to express an interest and respond to a market engagement questionnaire.
The deadline to respond is 1:00pm 10 October, through the Bravo Portal, here.
