Cyber security, EPR, digital programmes, virtual wards, EPMA, social prescribing in focus at HTN Now 8-9 November

This week at HTN our health tech for the now online event series continues, taking place 8-9 November discussing current and topical health tech topics, open to all to attend.

We welcome speakers from across the industry to discuss a number of topics such as: cyber security, women in digital transformation, EPMA, virtual wards and much more. 

Join us to share thoughts and experiences on different topics in industry to discuss, discover and learn the latest ongoings in health tech.

First on the agenda at 9am on 8 November, the focus is on why cyber security is everyones responsibility. Tej Gudka, Head of Cyber Security at NHS Arden & GEM CSU will lead the session discussing some of the practical ways organisations can support staff to be aware of common cyber threats such as phishing emails and how to be responsive.

At 11am, this episode of HTN Let’s Talk features an interview with Jeffrey Wood, Deputy Director of ICT at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. He discusses his career in the health industry, the digital programmes across the hospital and ICS, the challenges, how to develop digital across a workforce and much more.

Next up at 1pm, the writing team at HTN will look into the future of the EPR market in the UK. In this article, we will be exploring how the EPR market will look in five years’ time.

To close the day, at 3pm we explore digital health in Europe. In this feature, we examine the digital health action plan recently adopted by countries in the European Region, and examine how it ties into some of the country’s digital health strategies.

On 9 November, to start the day at 9am women in digital transformation is the focus. We will be joined by Katy Lethbridge, Director, Ideal Health – Health Technology specialist, Alison Walker – Expert in Organisational Digitalisation, Jo Smith – International CIO, Katherine Church – Digital transformation specialist and Victoria Betton – Specialist in human-centred design and digital transformation for social impact.

Following the publication of the UK’s first women’s health strategy and the appointment of the women’s health ambassador, Ideal Health will explore the impact, skills and benefits women bring to digital transformation in health and care, and the changes that are needed to drive investment and representation of women as users and providers of health tech.

At 10am, this session will discuss virtual wards and keeping it simple for ICSs with a continuous monitoring demonstration on setting up virtual wards. Joining us is Jamie Innes, Product Director of Inhealthcare.

Next up at 11am, we will be joined by Prof Gina Yannitell Reinhardt, from The University of Essex to discuss social prescribing, beyond implementation and the issue of measuring impact. The session will present a case study that will span multiple counties that addresses lessons to learn from the Interreg-funded Connected Communities Project.

At 1pm, the focus is on Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on implementing EPMA at an unprecedented pace. We will be joined by Helen Mutton – CMM Head of Programme, and Richard Billam – Deputy Director of ICT Barnsley NHS FT. They aim to provide an attitude blueprint that trusts an health boards can follow in order to replicate success.

Concluding the event is a session from Leeds Teaching Hospitals on digital care plans; how they can benefit patients and colleagues. In this talk Dave Pickles, Lead Nurse for the Transforming Nursing Documentation project at Leeds Teaching Hospitals will be joining us to share their project of integrating digital care plans into their EPR.
