Two years on from our post covering NHS website accessibility rankings back in 2021, we return to find out which NHS websites are in the top 10 and the lowest, based on usability, content, accessibility, marketing, mobile, social, speed, and legal compliance.
The Silktide Index ranks websites for accessibility across a number of different categories and industries, using the widely-recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). It evaluates the web accessibility of worldwide organisations and assigns them a score based on their level of compliance with the WCAG standard. Each month the rankings are updated and include recommendations for improvement.
Rankings are carried out across a total of 276 websites across NHS trusts and central NHS websites.
Here are the top 10 and their scores out of 100, as ranked by Silktide:
- Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust – 99
- NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly ICB – 99
- Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust – 97
- NHS – 97
- NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB – 97
- Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust – 95
- Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust – 95
- NHS Sussex ICB – 94
- Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – 94
- Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust – 93
