The success of NHS elearning programmes in engaging staff and delivering time and cost savings is being highlighted at a major healthcare event in London.
Leading elearning company, Sponge UK will be sharing the impact of its work for the National Health Service at the Procurement in Healthcare Show at Olympia on Wednesday, September 28.
The award-winning elearning provider has collaborated with a number of NHS trusts to create innovative and effective digital learning programmes.
Sponge UK’s NHS clients include Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Wales, the Royal Marsden School, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College NHS Trust.
“Learning technologies offer great opportunities for the NHS to not only save time and money, but improve the quality, impact and flexibility of training programmes,” said Louise Pasterfield, Managing Director, Sponge UK.
“Elearning can help engage people, motivate action, support behaviour change, help boost performance and reinforce knowledge.
“We’ll be sharing some of our NHS success stories and explaining how innovations like elearning games and interactive video can help deliver benefits without costing the earth.”
Sponge UK’s work with Southern Health has been shortlisted for a Training Journal Award in the category of Best Public Sector Programme.
The project to transform 13 compliance topics into high quality digital learning courses has achieved time and cost savings worth £200,000 in just three months.
Sponge UK worked with the Royal Marsden School to create a free elearning programme for health and social care workers to broaden their knowledge of cancer care in the community.
The digital training includes personalisation features to help professionals tailor the learning to their specific needs and experience.
Visitors to the Procurement in Healthcare Show can see a demonstration of an NHS elearning, including a hand washing game and fire safety game, at Sponge UK’s stand at P278 in the exhibition hall.
The event is part of the UK Healthcare Show, which brings together senior healthcare professionals and decision makers to help improve service delivery for better healthcare outcomes across the UK.
Sponge UK is the current gold winner of Outstanding Learning Organisation of the Year and the 2014 gold winner of Elearning Development Company of the Year at the Learning Technologies Awards.
