Lincoln goes live with Rio

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has gone live with the Rio from Servelec for over 2,000 practitioners.

Sarah Connery, Director of Finance and Information at LPFT said: “We have worked closely with Servelec, staff, commissioners and patient representatives to build a specification that best meets our needs. We now feel we have developed an easy to use, intuitive but robust clinical system that can enable our staff to work as effectively and efficiently as possible to care for our patients. It is still early days as we only went live with the Rio system at the beginning of September – but we look forward to being able to evidence the benefits of the investment once the system is bedded in.”

Royal Papworth Hospital strategic partnership with Philips aims to transform patient care

Royal Philips and Royal Papworth Hospital have entered into a strategic partnership to explore new healthcare innovations. As part of the hospital’s commitment to working with industry to tackle major heart and lung conditions, the two organisations have agreed to team up on a number of projects that have the potential to transform patient care

Stephen Posey, Chief Executive of Royal Papworth Hospital, and Neil Mesher, Chief Executive of Philips UK and Ireland, signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Among the projects already identified, the two organisations will be looking at speeding up heart attack diagnosis and treatment, and improving lung cancer screening.

Stephen Posey said “This agreement brings together specialist clinicians from the UK’s leading heart and lung centre and experts from one of the world’s biggest technology companies to work on a range of treatment innovations. It is a truly exciting prospect.”

Mark Venables, CEO Highland Marketing, said: “Michelle is a welcome addition to the team as we’re growing at a significant rate. That is a reflection of our recognition as an established, trusted marketing communications agency focused on the healthcare industry and wider public sector.”

Blackpool hospital hails Fujifilm success

Claire Nicoll, Lead Radiographer commenting on the FDR nano “It’s so easy to use, manoeuvre and park – partly because it doesn’t have a powered drive so it’s really light. The detector is also sleek and lightweight, which the radiographers like as it’s easy to handle. The image quality is fantastic because of the Fujifilm Virtual GridTM technology that allows for considerably lower exposure factors to be used whilst producing excellent diagnostic images.”

The FDR nano is a revolutionary mobile x-ray system that delivers exceptional images on a lightweight, compact cart. Fujifilm’s patented image processing technology and ultra-sensitive D-EVO II detectors means the FDR nano doesn’t require a motorised drive, which allows for a streamlined design that handles with ease and can be used in even the tightest spaces. Full flexibility of movement across the whole unit, including the operating panel and the tube head, makes positioning easy even for sequential radiography.

HTN 100 is a 100 word challenge to help share health tech projects and learnings. In 100 words we want to hear about the technology you are using, the benefits, successes and tips. HTN 100 will be published every Friday!
