PUBLIC, a leading government tech firm has acquired GP IT system supplier Microtest.
The organisation offers support, insight, capital and networking to help tech providers, typically start-ups, navigate the public sector.
The details of the deal remains undisclosed, and the co-founder of PUBLIC Alexander de Carvalho, has been announced as the Executive Chairman of Microtest.
Over a year ago, Microtest was one of three GP IT systems suppliers to join an agreement with NHS Scotland to supply GP software. More recently, six months ago, NHS Wales cancelled its contract with Microtest Limited by mutual agreement, due to system delays.
In England the supplier recently joined the new GP IT Futures framework, one of the 69 providers on the new programme.
PUBLIC is led by ex-deputy head of the No.10 policy unit, Daniel Korski, and venture investor, Alexander de Carvalho typically supporting start-ups, rather than acquiring firms.
The organisation has supported companies such as Cera a tech enabled home-care company and Doctify, an online doctors service.
