Lakeside Healthcare Partnership, a group of NHS GP practices in the East Midlands, has introduced a digital assessment platform to help redesign pathways by digitising patient triage and assessment workflows.
Doctrin’s care navigation platform, which enables patients to be triaged and directed onward to a healthcare practitioner, is being rolled out across its eight sites in the partnership.
To date, since going live with the platform, the partnership has highlighted that less than 10% of initial patient queries need to be dealt with by a GP, and for two practices, the number of calls reduced from 6,143 a week to 4,600.
“Doctrin has completely re-shaped the model of care at Lakeside, as the AI triage tool ensures patients are directed to the right healthcare professional for their needs,” said Group Lead Nurse, Kerry Gardner. “This allows us to plan our workforce accordingly.”
The company said the platform enables patients to engage with their local practice at a time that suits them and provides a response within one working day.
Kerry, added: “Doctrin isn’t just a digital platform, it’s a whole new way of working for primary care that ultimately makes the experience easier for patients. It has already earned patient trust as they can submit a request to their practice while on the go and rely on them to respond quickly.”
So far, it has been well received by patients, resulting in a patient satisfaction score of over 90% across Lakeside sites.
