AGFA HealthCare has signed a deal with Alliance Medical to introduce a suite of cloud based solutions including enterprise imaging, collaboration, workflow, artificial intelligence, and referral tools, to streamline the patient pathway.
The programme will start deployment later this year, introducing the solutions across 120 sites for Alliance Medical’s UK community diagnostic centres, static imaging sites for PET-CT, MRI, CT and other imaging modalities and its fleet of mobile, modular and relocatable units.
It forms part of Alliance Medical UK’s Future Unified Diagnostic Information System project, supported with the AGFA HealthCare Enterprise Imaging Platform, and tools for clinical collaboration, enterprise imaging and features for diagnosis and workflow. This includes artificial intelligence and advanced visualisation for molecular imaging, a collaboration and workflow tool to manage activity, and supporting referral solutions of xWave Technologies’ Smart Referring and Streets Heaver’s Compucare® PAS/EPR.
Pete Winchester, UK managing director at Alliance Medical, commented: “The partnership between Alliance Medical and AGFA HealthCare will play a key role in enabling us to achieve our strategic vision, and will support our commitment to integrating diagnostics into existing care pathways.
“The digital ecosystem AGFA HealthCare brought together will deliver the experience, knowledge and innovation needed to create a complete cloud-based solution which covers the entire end-to-end patient pathway.”
Earlier in the month, HTN shared a video interview, hosted by chief clinical information officer for AGFA HealthCare, Dr Nick Spencer, who speaks with Dr Dan Fascia, a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist at Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust, on his day-to-day working practices of a radiologist and his experiences with health technologies. In April, NHS England published its NHS Community Health Services Data Plan, 2024/25 to 2026/27, highlighting challenges around data quality, timeliness and relevance in the community health sector and looking to tackle those challenges by building on existing health data strategies. The plan details ambitions for community health services data architecture; to define core data requirements; to achieve targeted data quality improvement; and to support the development of provider data capabilities.
