York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has published a prior information notice highlighting its intention to procure a software package to support e-Job planning, medical appraisal, re-validation and 360˚ feedback management.
A number of key priority areas are outlined, including the need for the software to be a cloud-based solution capable of delivering future-proof scalability, performance, data storage, reporting, interoperability and real-time data functionality. It must be “quick and intuitive” for doctors, appraisers and managers who will need to use it regularly and in a straightforward manner, without needing to invest a significant amount of time. Additionally, the trust requires the software to manage complexity in job planning with “time and pay errors to be kept to a minimum”; to provide feedback and reporting to users live within the system; and for the solution to be cost effective.
The trust also states that the new software must have “quick and effective implementation” with a “timely and straightforward transition for users” from the existing software, which comes to an end in May 2025. Earlier this week, we highlighted how an invitation to tender has been launched by Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust, for a digital histopathology outsourced reporting solution to help overcome the trust’s struggle with staffing levels of consultant histopathologists. The tender is valued at £500k to £2 million, and is set to run for an initial contract term of three years, with an option to extend by up to a further two.
Last month, we shared how Essex County Council has launched a tender worth £500,000 for a digital service offer for unpaid carers, which will feature a range of digital content and tools designed to “build resilience”.
Also in June, we reported on a tender published by NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB, which focuses on the procurement of a population health management digital solution, capable of offering bespoke data analysis, technical solutions and digital platforms.
