South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust has announced plans to publish a new five-year digital strategy in 2022.
The strategy, aimed to shape the direction of transformation at the trust, will place a key theme on digital inclusivity and co-design, the trust said.
It’s now called on service users and carers to support the development of the strategy, seeking views through a questionnaire, to formulate and outline key priorities. It plans to learn and understand wider views on digital tools such as: booking and cancelling appointments via a website or app, communication by text message, virtual appointments, live chat tools, receiving letters by email, viewing letters and details online and accessing key information online.
The trust said in a call to encourage carers to contribute: “Our scope is broad, and your experiences of digital may be different to that of your colleagues. For instance, you might have views on how we can manage our data better, or alternatively you might have views on the latest clinical systems, and we are keen to hear all aspects as we look to capture vital insights that will enable us to harness the power of digital to improve patient and staff experience across the trust.”
The survey seeks to understand from participants their level of digital literacy, when they have experienced ‘good care’ and why it was a positive experience, when care could have been better and what the problems and challenges are.
